- http://www.steves-digicams.com/ this is the best site for any digital camera reviews
- Hope this helps. Cnet is ok, but it is more for consumers rather than hi-end.

- I shoot for sites that have have rigorous testing methods, and back up qualitative impressions with quantitative testing methods. They back up sample pics, and still-life test shots with 100% crops, standardized color samples, and resolution chart tests, and quantitative numbers where they can. That's the sign of a good review. DPReview (Digital Photography Review) is an excellent site that has very rigorous techniques. They maintain a fairly objective stance (although nobody is completely objective, sometimes they are more lenient on some brands and harder on others). And they are more critical of image performance than anyone else I've seen. In fact, they go into such detail that sometimes I think that the casual point-and-shoot user would get worked up over nothing. But it's better to be over-informed than under informed (or worse, misinformed). And they are experienced and knowledgeable not only about imaging but also about the technology supporting it. Imaging resources also has fairly rigorous testing routine as well, and I respect their analysis thoroughly. They are exceedingly detailed in their analysis, and test the full spectrum of possibilities for each camera (varying ISO, flash range, optical viewfinder accuracy, zoom settings) They do not do comparisons though, so you have to do the legwork yourself when you visit their site. But you have all the detailed samples to make your own assessment. I agree, Cnet is too focused on the wizbang gadgets, and are not equiped to do serious commentary on photography output. They don't even come into the picture. Steve's Digicam is not the one I go to for good reviews. That site is not rigorous, scientific, or critical at all. Basically, it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff at that site.
