Are the sony digital cameras made in china are same quality of those made in Japan.?

  1. wow, that's tough, but i'd say that the ones made in japan ensure at least a slightly better manufacture.
  2. generally speaking, anything made in Japan will be of better quality due to their higher quality controls. (This does NOT mean Chinese-made stuff is crap....they make some excellent products.)
  3. The things about anything made in China is that if there's a way to cut corners they'll do it with no thought to the quality and safety of the product.
  4. If the specs are the same it should be same quality no matter where it's made.
  5. China has had kind of a bad rep for a number of years now and deservedly so, many products made there are absolute junk. However it does not follow that everything they make is junk. The problem is that the Chinese are willing to build anything for a price. Tell them what you want and tell them what you're willing to pay for it and they will make it. Clearly if you want something made on the cheap it's going to be an inferiour quality. On the other hand if you're willing to pay for quality then that's what you get, good quality. Reputable, major manufacturers the world over that decide to manufacture in China do not do so entirely on price. They detail the quality level, often the materials to be used, the quality of workmanship and everything else. Once that's in place they then negotiate price. If a deal is made often the manufacturer does its own quality control to make sure the Chinese factory is living up to the terms of the contract. What that translates into for the consumer is simple. A product from a manufacturer that has a reputation for high quality will have a high quality regardless of where the manufacturer chooses to have the product made. Keep in mind if your Sony gadget falls apart you're more likely to blame Sony and suggest that they have a lousy quality than you will blame whatever factory made it. As a result you can be sure the manufacturer does its best to keep quality high. Personally I've bought two kinds of products from Chinese makers. I've bought Chinese products made for the Chinese market and so far they've been consistently garbage. I've also bought products from reputable well respected manufacturers that just happen to manufacture in China and all of those have been equal to anything made here. So the answer to your question is yes. I hope that answers your question.
