What is the best Video Capture on Digital Cameras?

I'm looking to buy a digital camera (atleast 7mp) that shoots GREAT quality videos. I'm reading about all this stuff like 15fps, 30 fps, etc...what is the best for recording TV quality videos? What should I look for?

  1. There are two main ways to measure video quality on a digital camera. 1. One is the frame rate. This is the 15fps or 30fps you were asking about. FPS stands for frames per second. More is better. Human vision is about 20fps. This means 15fps will look choppy but 30fps will look smooth. There are cameras that go even higher, so fast moving objects won't be so blurry. 2. The other is resolution. Although most compact digital cameras shoot still images in the megapixels (like 4000x3000 resolution), they shoot motion video typically in just one fourth (640x480)! As with the fps, more is better. Only recently have compact digital cameras been sold with resolution higher than 640x480. Read the article at the second link for a much longer and better answer!
