Compact Presario Trouble shooting?

I have a Compac Presario, my son forgot his password, he did system recovery, un-plugged all the accessories, he just left the mouse, monitor, and keyborad, in the end the screen goes black, and it is playing music. I can't afford to pay $200 + to have somebody come to my home and help me. HP, is so dishonest in their policies, that eventhough they say in writting that will help me over the phone, for 1 year since I purchased the computer, when I called they told me that it is since they sold the computer to the store where I bough it! Please help.

2. With HP or Compaq they go off of the serial number of the product if you DIDN"T REGISTER IT ON-LINE WHEN YOU FIRST SET IT UP. All you have to do is tell them when you purchased it and ask for the fax number to fax a copy of your receipt...I did this very same thing! If you ask for a supervisor they will give you one freebie and help you right then and there as long as you promise to fax the receipt. All you really need to do is insert the Compaq Restore CD in the CD Drive and turn on your computer...it will ask you if you want to put your computer back to the condition it was when you bought it...it takes about 20 minutes and is easy and pie to do...mind you anything that was on the hard drive will be erased so if you have important files you might think twice about it.
