where is accessories?

In my messed up HP computer, when I click start to go to other programs etc., and when I click accessories - it's totally blank. Any idea where my accessories and favourite items gone?? Thanks.

  1. Oh, oh. Something is definately wrong with your computer, I think. The normal method is click on start and up will pop all sorts of choices in blue. Then find the word 'programs' and click on it. Up pops a whole bunch of installed programs. Find the word 'accessories' and click on it. It SHOULD HAVE an arrowtip at the end of the word, accessories. If it doesn't, then nothing is there. Somehow, you have magically moved all that stuff somewhere else. I only know one thing and smarter people than I know much more. Here is what I know: Go to 'my computer'. Click RIGHT SIDE OF MOUSE. Down will drop a list of things. At the bottom of the list should be the word 'properties'. Find it. Click LEFT SIDE OF MOUSE ON IT. A new menu of things will appear with tabs across its top. Find the word on a tab that says 'SYSTEM RESTORE'. Click LEFT SIDE OF MOUSE on it. Another page opens. Make sure no box is checked inside this new page. Click LEFT SIDE OF MOUSE on OK. If you have two drives in your HP, one of them will be highlighted already inside this page, so 'SYSTEM RESTORE' will go through that one first, and ususally it is C drive. You may have to go through the whole process for D drive if you have two drives. I am guessing but maybe somehow you relocated your 'accessories' into D drive if it is there as a second drive. That is all I know. gh
  2. When you hit "Start", do you open "All Programs?" You should get "Accessories." If you don't, maybe they're stored elsewhere. When mine acted up, like yours is, it was because I had too many applications/programs installed, or opened, so I opted for installing more RAM. Sometimes if you do a "Systems Restore" you can go back to a time when everything was as it should be.
