HP Pavilion tx1000 touchscreen or Dell Inspiron 1521?
I'm buying a laptop for college this fall, but I'm having trouble deciding which one to get! I thought I had my mind made up with the HP, but then I got a catalog in the mail from Dell. I love the swivel touchscreen, fingerprint reader, handwriting recognition software, etc. from HP, but I also love the colors, options, and accessories from Dell. I looked at both of their sites, and they'd both come down to about the same price, so I can't use a price factor. Can anyone help?

- I think the HP Pavilion tx1000 looks much flasher, but i heard there were a lot of problems with it. I think the Dell Inspiron 1521 is quite nice...so I would probably choose the Dell one. Nways, that is just my opinion...so good luck with choosing~! -Haru
- The tx1000 is a lot smaller and lighter than the 1521, two things you would appreciate in college. But also, remember Dell has tons of crazy coupons. I think you can get about $250 off if you are a student, and have an email ending in .edu http://www.dellunleashed.com/ And tt doesn't hurt to google "Dell coupons" before making a purchase, sometimes you can get $350 off notebooks... Personally, if I had the option, I would go with Dell because it has a better option for graphic card(NVidia 8400GS), but if you don't do gaming, you'll probably like more the tx1000.
- I would probably go with the conventional LT for campus. Classes are built around that type of LT. It probably is more durable as well. That tablet is a great concept though.
- HP Pavilion TX Touchscreen
- dell last longer
- HP is better than dell in many ways.
- I have had several dell computers and 3 laptops over the years . all i can say is they are built to take just about anything you can throw at them . Rock Solid construction great service the HP is a nice computer but you have to remember your taking this from class to class and doing homework on it too so it needs to be sturdy and it needs to have a good warrentee too incase something bad happpens. Dell all the way Ghostrider
