I have a new laptop...Help with accessories?

I have a new HP Pavillion Entertainment Laptop from best buy..it has two microphones built into it, and Vista as an OS but i want not only a little more bang but some great accessories... starting to feel like i need more. My cousin told me to get a slingbox and a router. i dont want to spend an inordinate amount of money but i can put about 300 in to it? help!! i need someone who knows wat they're talking about, 2 please! ;-)

1. I'm not sure I would get any use from the slingbox. It transmits your home TV over the Internet so that you can watch your home TV from anywhere you can get an Internet connection. Unless you're trying to goof off at work, that wouldn't be of any value to me. Now a router.......that's another story. You can purchase a wireless router and then you carry your laptop all over the house, even on the front porch--if you get one with a strong enough signal. It makes the laptop truly "portable". (Hint: buy the best router you can afford......it'll be worth it). You need to have broadband Internet service to use a router. If you have a DSL connection, then you need to purchase a DSL router.
2. a laptop doesnt need many accessories because its a different modem PC but i could be wrong some laptops were made differently the only thing a laptop needs is cd rom drive the monitor keyboard and a phone line to hook it up to the internet thats it and speakers too .and earphone plug to listen to music.
