I want to make an obituary with photos inside at home---What programs and supplies do I need?
Over the years, while attending funerals, I see obituaries have gotten more like magazines and mini books. How would I make these at home? I have seen some very unique styles and would like to create my own styles. What all would I need to do this? Example--what type of paper, printer, software, etc? Thank you all in advance for your answers.

- Interesting idea. First contact your local newspaper for their specifications. Next, contact funeral homes. Often they write the obits or help the families to do so. Maybe they will be willing to hire your services. If you find any that don't then maybe they can recommend you as a source to the family members. You will have to sell your abilities to get their recommendation though with a portfolio, even if they are fictional obits at least it shows your writing style. You'll need a microsoft office program for the wording/layout. Most newspapers will take a photo and scan it for you though if you have a scanner you can do it yourself. You'll need disks or cds to take all the information to the newspaper. Including the jpg of the scanned photo not just the placement photo. As I said, contact the newspapers for their stat requirements.
