How can I get litho plates to use like styrene for model making?

Are they thin metal? Would printers supply used plates? Would they cost?

1. I would go to the local news paper office...( used) They are usually available for a small amount of money.
2. Yes they often are thin metal although some printing systems use paper plates. A general printer may sell you some old ones from customers who have gone bust or sold up. Such plates would have no value other than as scrap metal but it would be up to the printer to decide on a charge as it could take some time to get suitable plates out of their files.
