Laser printers?

Is it true that laser printers uses powder? If not, what do they use instead? Will it dry out (i.e ink drying out for inkjet printers)

1. they use toner, which is like a powder... they won't dry out. toner contains plastic and a pigment like powder.... http://computer.howstuffworks.com/laser-printer.htm
