Alternative to Color Laser printers?

Hi guys. I'm scouting for an all-in-one printer (home office). I'm after color laser's excellent (rich and fine) text printing quality which is excellent for proposals. As much as I want to get a color laser, I don't have budget for it. Is a thermal inkjet (HP) printer the next best alternative? Thanks.

1. for me, laser printers is still the best. though its much expensive and quite larger than others, it is more reliable and durable.
