HP Pavilion Laptop Power Supply Issues?

My HP Pavilion laptop computer has been having problems with the power supply. I have gone through about 5 a/c adapters in the past year because the connectors keep getting bent up. You have to screw around with the cord to get it in just the right position to get the laptop to make a connection and charge the battery. Eventually the little connector gets so bent out of whack it breaks, and voila, I have to buy a new a/c adapter. Someone told me that there is a problem with the inside of the laptop, which causes you to have to bend the cord about so that it makes a connection. I don't know what the issue is, but I'm tired of paying $50 a pop every 2 months for a new power cord. Does anyone know what's wrong with it? Is it fixable?

  1. Never had the problem. Since laptops are delicate. I treat them as such. However the military has industrial strength ones that are made by HP. Check them out at the link below
  2. First of all. if you buy those A/C adapters from different stores, and not HP. you would pay about$25. The best thing you can do, is to go to a local shop and have It fix. If you still have a warranty from HP you should call them and have it fix without any charge.
  3. YES! I've been having this problem with mine for the last few months. My husband had the same problem with an HP he owned a few years ago. I talked to HP and they said it would cost $400 to fix. The heck with that....instead I got a deal on a Dell and got it with more memory, hard drive space and yaddi yaddi for $600. Quite a few people have had this problem with HP - it's because of the power cord and the single prong.
