I want to print multiple photographs on a single sheet of paper. Photography software suggestions?
Camera is a Canon Power Shot 100, Printer is an HP Photosmart A626. Supplied programs suck eggs. ACDSee and Photoshop 7 are better by far, but don't deliver the professional capabilities I was promised when buying it. I need suggestions on photographic software that will allow me to print multiple images on one sheet... Any constructive feedback is greatly appreciated. As of 11 am, Saturday 19 April, I've seen 7 replies, and they all look great. I had no idea Word, XP and Photoshop 7 could do that. Thank you all so much! Now how do I pick best answer?

- "Qimage is a digital imaging application that has grown from its simple roots of printing multiple images on a single page, to being one of the most frequently referred to and highly recommended digital image applications in the world." http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/feature.htm For me, it's all about the best results, with a minimun amount of time and effort.(let the software do the work).
- ummm... well windows software itself lets you do that. (print a few photos out on the one page). Example with Windows XP (but should be similar for Vista). Go to My pictures. Right click on one of the pictures.....and go to Open with..... then choose Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. it will then view the picture. Press on the Print Icon. It will then load up asking for options. Tick all the photos you want to print then press next. Then choose the printer you want to print to and next. Then it will give you the options of available Layouts. It will have full page, 2 photos to a page, multiple photos to a page, 3 photos to a page...wallet size photos etc. This is all part of windows. ------------------------------- If you want to make a college of photos then that's different and you will need Macromedia Fireworks or photoshop.
- Easiest way to do it is through Windows. Select all the photos you want and then click Print under the file menu. Follow the photo printing wizard and it will guide you through printing multiple photos on a page.
- Photoshop and I presume Photoshop Elements - lets you print proof sheets (called contact sheets from the old film days in the automate submenu).
- Photoshop 7 has all the capabilities you need. There is a built-in automatic process for multiple photos of the same size (file...automate...picture package) then choose the sizes and layout, and drag multiple files to the photo layout if you want different prints. Even more versatile is the old standard, which I wrote a tutorial for some time ago: http://www.geocities.com/roberthaus/print/ This gives you the ability to print all different sizes as needed. I'm not sure what "pro capabilities" you're having a hard time with using Photoshop, but believe me, it's there, and version 7 doesn't have all the bells and whistles of later ones, but is still a very capable and complete program for professional results; you may just need to do some tutorials to learn your way around. If you want to buy something new for the purpose, Qimage that was mentioned elsewhere is designed for just what you ask, but its users can at times be annoyingly devoted and evangelical (and argumentative), almost like one of those glassy-eyed religions; in reality it's a good program, but not really necessary if you have Photoshop and spend a little time learning the process.
- It is SO easy. Open Microsoft Word and a series of text boxes. Insert your choices of images into those boxes and arrange to suit.
- Adobe Lightroom does this quite well in the PRINT module. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3169/2315292548_25ed4f4208_b.jpg http://www.adobe.com/lightroom
