should a desktop hp computer, laptop, and xbox 360 pro be able to run off one linksys wireless router?

should a desktop hp computer, laptop, and xbox 360 pro be able to run off one linksys wireless router? i ask because my fam has the computer wired to the router, working fine, we wired the laptop at tha same time, worked fine. then we changed the connection of the laptop to wireless and still had tha desktop wired, worked fine. but then i added my xbox 360, wired to the router, it worked fine for two weeks then there wuz a system failure to the harddrive off the desktop. The IT guy told us it was because the xbox was too much, and somehow reconfigured the hardrive, and there was another piece needed for that connection, but i dont know what tha piece is................. CAN I GET A LIL HELP PLEASE?

  1. The IT guy is competely wrong. Well, techically it is possible if a virus is added to the equation, but the odds of him being right is very low. Your XBOX should work just fine in an existing wired/wireless network; so should your laptops & desktops. The HD on the computer failed for other reasons... in my opinion. As far as the other piece needed, not sure what you mean.
  2. The HD failure on your Desktop has NOTHING to do with hooking up the XBox. Find a new IT guy.
  3. Your network has nothing to do with you getting a system failure. Your IT is just trying to charge you more money. Just get a new router if your router is not working. As for the system failure there could be millions of things to cause that.
  4. True the Xbox has NOTHING to do with the computer's hard drive failing the most likely solution is to open the case to the computer (if it's still under warranty bad idea) and check the connectors for the hard drive both the ide or sata and power connector if you disconnect and reconnect both cords on it. the computer should see it. if it doesn't email me I can give you more to try
