please help me to choose a laptop?

I live in india. i plan to buy a laptop. after a broad search, i found dell E1405 and hp dv2000t. i list out my questions now. first, guide to me a choose one or is there any other laptop with 14 inch screen and a decent configuration. i am a web developer. it should suit my needs. i am not an avid gamer. 2. the price difference between US and other countries. I found the price in US for dell e1405 is 800$. will they levy me additional taxes. is there any price difference in purchasing online and directly buying in shops. is it a rule that one should bring only one laptop with them, while they are travelling to other countries from US. if they levy taxes or custom duty, how much will they charge me? I have friends in taiwan, singapore,malaysia. so, if i cant buy a dell r hp laptop in US, where should i buy other than US? I found indian laptops are too costly . let me know if there are service centers in india for dell

1. The dell one would prove better than the HP one. Also if you have budget of 1to 2 Lakhs & you want to have a Blue Ray Disk Writer then you should go for Sony Vaio.
2. well the best place to get a laptop is singapore... its cheap and ask your friend to bring the laptop as hes using it and bringing it on his way to india. I would recommend you to go for acer laptops. they are cost efficient and you will get a good value for money, (hp is good too). good luck...
3. Dude, i was a web developer too and i had and still have the same problem as yours. I would recommend to buy a laptop in singapore. Yes they are cheap as the other guy said and i too recommend Acer. They are the cheapest machine and value for money. Its true that a guy can bring only one comp when they come from other countries and taxes will be charged for additionals. Try to contact your singapore friend and get one.
