HP Laptops - Manufacturing Defect - Poor Support - How to get help?

Chennai-India -My friend bought the latest HP Pavillion dv 2414, after about 8 months, suddenly one fine morning the LCD Display had a crack. We took it to the HP centre and explained the case to them. The service engineer simply said it is not covered under warranty and refused to give any explanation.Frustrated with the brash attitude, he almost decided to go in for a new one. Incidentally when he was browsing for similar incidents, there were many posts on the poor quality of service of HP and how their laptops are shipped with manufacturing defects and the deplorable quality of service at HP. He also found an article on the same problem as his being reported(by HPs channel partners who acknowledge the poor quality of HP laptops). http://www.itvarnews.net/news/journal_comments.asp?JournalID=4493 Can some one tell me the way to: a) make HP management listen (the local HPguys dont care) b) Else how to get legal help? c) create awareness of HP's attitude to its customers

  1. 1. call HP customer service ask question about warranty before disclosing your reason. In other word, get all the facts about warranties first, then discuss the problem. Make sure you get the name of the people you talk to, time, dates, and write down their responses. 2. Call and report them to the Better Business Bureau, which should help you file a complaint --which they will then send to HP for a response and possible solution, BBB will report to you HP response you can agree with or not. 3. After no solution, you can then find a product defect lawyer. Check your local yellow pages.
  2. I am having the same issue with HP. the only difference is that my wireless assistant is not working. I have sent my laptop for repair TWICE, and yet they cant fix it. They made me do countless hours of trouble shooting for nothing. I think you should ask for a manager. One is suppose to call me today.
