Can I use the OperatingSystemCD from a old HP Laptop to put onto a new HP laptop with Vista?

I have a 4165cl right now. I'll be getting a 6780se. If I have the old Operating System CD. Could I put XP from the 4165cl Operating System CD onto the new laptop with Vista?

1. Maybe, maybe not- if the XP copy included all the drivers etc for the old laptop then they will likely not be correct for the new one. If it is just a bog -standard non-machine specific MS Win XP disk- then yes you can but you may run into problems activating it
2. Off course yes, because both are yours and you paid for them. So, not a big deal in putting your old PC's XP in new one.

4. Yes no problem, format the hard drive then install the NTSF partition, and download XP, hope that helped and good luck.,
