What is the difference between Compaq and HP laptops?

Specifically the Compaq Presario V6000T and the HP Pavillion dv6000T. These two models are nearly identical in available options and appearance. Maybe a better question is what is the difference between Compaq and HP...both brands are available on the same manufacturers website.

I don't think there is much of a difference between the 2 besides one being an HP and one being a Compaq, but technically they are exactly the same except the logo since HP and Compaq are the same company now
They are the same computer - different name since HP bought out Compaq.
Compaq is owned by HP. I have a Compaq laptop from two years ago and am very pleased with it. Note of warning though: HP has notoriously bad customer support. If you never come across a problem, you'll likely be very satisfied with your laptop. Should a problem arise though be prepared for HP's warranty program to drag out for months and waste lots of your time.
They merged years ago, so therefore they are the same company. Only difference is the name and the price they charge. HP products cost more then Compaq products. Even though it is the same parts.
Compaq is Hewlett-Packard's lower end line.
