What is the difference between HP laptops and HP Pavilion laptops and which laptop do you recommend?

I am interested in buying a new laptop but don't know which one to get. My last two desktop computers have been Compaq but was recommended an HP Pavillion at Office Depot last week.

1. HP Pavilions are the entertainment line of notebook, so they include lots of multimedia features. I have a Pavilion DV6000 and it has great entertainment features like webcam, good speakers, trubrite display etc. I would reccomend one of these if you are a multimedia user. But if not you would probably save some dollars on a compaq because it has less features.
2. I have a dv9410us laptop which has a 17inch display. I say its perfect for entertainment. But I got trouble when going mobile because of its size and weight. Depends on your purpose, entertainment or for mobile computing?!
