HP Pavilion Laptop - How do you make the screen brighter?
I know it's in the settings somewhere. It is probably on a battery saving mode, but I use it plugged in all the time. How can I get the display brighter? Thanks for your assistance. Thank you all. Chris's version was the one that was on my HP, and I can see now!

- get a lamp..
- plug it in. Anytime a laptop is working off the battery, the screen is dim no matter how much you mess with the settings.
- alt f8... thats the setting on my hp laptop
- go to the start icon thing, go to control panel, commonly used mobility settings, brightness.
- click "fn" den click the button with the sun on it with the up arrow the fn button is a blue button
- Windows Mobility Center. A link to this can be found when you click on your charge status at the bottom of the screen.
- I got one of these too, a few days ago. :) In the bottom right hand corner, there is a little icon of a plug and a bar. If you click on that it should give you three power options - HP recommended, power saver, and high performance. Select high performance. Since you say you are usually plugged in, this doesn't effect your battery. But the battery life on HP laptops is only about 2 hours, so when you're not plugged in I'd go with the HP recommended setting.
- click start menu, control panel, network and internet connection, click internal NIC configuration, there u can do it
- hold fn and reapeadiatley press the picture of th esun with the plus sign next to it
- Ok, I have the same laptop, just plug the battery charger in, the light dims off because it would like to extend and save the life of the battery. So plug it in and it will make the screen brighter.
- You should have a blue sun on the up arrow and down arrow buttons to the right. up is brighter down is lower
