Red vertical line on screen on HP laptop pavilion 6000?

I have a HP Pavilion zv6000 laptop. On the right side of the screen about 3 inches in is a red vertical line that comes on before windows starts and stays on and doesn't go away.

1. A pixel is broken in the monitor. I had the same problem but with a yellow line. I suppose it's the same thing. You have to get a new monitior or try to get technical support since its a laptop.
2. my line was blue. burnt pixel. new monitor only way to fix it. try ebay. I replaced mine for $70.
