How to change the Touch Volume control on a HP Pavilion Dv600 Laptop?

I have an HP Pavilion Laptop, an there is a volume control that you can touch it to change the volume. Except when you touch it, it makes the MOST ANNNNOOOYYYING beep ever, and at one point i changed it, and some how changed back. But now i don't know how to change it back.
