Is this a good buy?

would you buy this Laptop? http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=395913&pCatg=5680 is it a considerable price for the specs? also, does anyone have good/bad experiences with HP laptops? by the way, when is the best time to buy laptops? (when do they usually go on sale?)

I would go with an IBM laptop. They are durable and streamlined. For as what you get, all companies market the same. Now probably would be a good time to buy being all retailers are trying to sell to new grads and the stimulus check everyone recieved.
i have had an hp for 4 months and no problems whatsoever, also, called customer support to ask about when vista service pack one was coming and they were very helpful
of course if i was a redneck on stupid steroids
That is a very nice computer and is priced right. I will be buying an HP soon so my answer may be a little bias but they are really good computers and very reliable. Also, the specs are great for running Vista. The best time to buy a laptop is during Back-To-School (August-September) season. Retailers and manufacturers want to cash in on all the purchases being made by parents and students. I live in Georgia and during the back to school season we have tax free holiday. This means that any item that is education related (including computers, clothes, etc..) are tax exempt. This will save a lot people about $50-$200 on new computers. Check with your State to see if they have anything like that. But back to school season is when you should reap the benefits of big discounts geared towards parents and students.
a good time to buy laptops is around holidays (thanksgiving, christmas) and your question... it dosnt really say more specs... it should have told u the ram. if i were you, i wouldnt buy from Sam's Club. I urge you to try Best Buy or Circuit City.. you'l probly get a higher quality laptop for less money... and that 2.0 Ghz isnt that great. i would try for something better. and the hard drive could be bigger i guess.... hp laptops are great. they're high quality and ive heard they're better than dell...
