Laptop Experts Needed...Feuding between 2 laptops..HELP?

Here is the HP Pavilion AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-56 1.8GHz Laptop (DV6404CA) http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=L&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10090297&catid=25315 And here is another one that is really good... Toshiba Intel Core Duo T2450 2.0GHz Laptop (A200-AH5) http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10089647&catid=25315&PCName=FSonlylaptops&logon=L&langid=EN Now the price for both on Labour Day Sale is both $699.99($CAN) so the prices isn't the problem. The problem is which is better. Which one would run smoother and is reliable and would be good for any counterstrike/EA Sports game, word processing, and surfing the net? My friend thinks the HP is better only because it's more reliable but Toshiba does have it's RAM expandable to 4GB. I'm really no laptop expert here, but if you were to buy one of these laptops, which one would it be? Thanks for your time. BTW any pros/cons on any of the laptops would be really appreciated..Thanks :) Also, any insight on graphics cards will also be welcomed, thanks :)

  1. neither if u want to play games. but if u wanted basic games then the hp notebook. as it has an nvidea based chipset. better than the toshibas intergrated graphics. personally i would go to dell.com they have great deals with quality laptops. im in australia atm and i purchased their 1520 notebook for 1849 australian which is like the cost of the laptop u r looking at american and i got core 2 duo 2.2ghz 4gb ram 250gb hdd 256mb nvidea 8600gt 15.4" dvd writer best deal i have ever gotten. i assure you for quality and cheapness dell is the way to go because u make ur own laptop. if u dont want somehting u deselect it and it saves you heaps. good luck
  2. Toshiba Intel Core Duo T2450 2.0GHz Laptop (A200-AH5) - Future Shop Exclusive. i sthebest choice as it will be helpful for ur future . u can evenly upgrade this according to ur need .. as u know a new day ives the birth to new technology so have the better understanding of this.. again .. it's my opinion .. and if u wanna have more about this then mail to me at cloudrose18@gmail.com if find helpful then do rate it for the best..
  3. Okay that was a though one ..tok 20 minutes to analize both the laptops and if i were i aould go with HP...looking at your need for Gaming and internet....you have to go with a laptp that =has aexpandbale memory for future upgrades...yeas both the laptops have that options However..for gaming you would need a buffer Display chipset(Nvidia)does that best and no The toshiba does not have one and Hp has that option fopr you..Evevn though it is a AMD proc it s a dual core and works as good as a pentium...talking about the storage toshiba did sloghtly good(160GB)however in todays worlds you can easily get a 500GB external hard drive and plug it too a USB port of your laptop..that solves the storage problem...both the laptops have similar standby and battery life...and the hard rpm 1500 is also the same..so if you are a serious gamer and a net freak go with Hp 1 think i would like you to note is HP has a better warranty and servive upgrade options when compared with toshiba Hope this inputs would help up CHEERS!!!
  4. I would have to say the HP if your playing any games at all really. The HP has an Nvidia card where as the toshiba has a generic Intel graphics card. The HP has the larger hard drive althought both are gonna seem kinda slow at 5400 RPM compared to a desktops normal 7200RPM. The HP just seems like it is geared more towards media since it has an SPDIF out. Both have the same battery life.....the HP has only 3 USB ports the Toshiba has 4....if that matters to you. The HP have a burner with Light-Scribe...i personally never saw a use for it....but may be handy to have. I would prefer the Toshiba's processor but other than that....the HP seems like it is better suited for what you want to do. The 2GB of ram upgraded on the HP should probably hold you over for most things.
  5. You're better off getting the Toshiba laptop because Toshiba is better than HP.
