What do you think of the HP Slimline f series?

I saw the computer. f series. 500 mg hard drive 3 mg memory. GeForce. Lightscribe. DVD/CD burner. Windows Vista. $569.00 US. Can turn it over onto its side and stick it next to your tv like any other component. Small enough, I think, to do an on-site presentation..just take a small monitor. I want for seminars and bedroom to operate with wireless keyboard and mouse. Is that possible. good or bad. desktop or laptop. laptop on sale same price 2 memory 160 mg hard drive

  1. I would go with a Shuttle for SFF (Small Form Factor) over HP. Shuttle uses much better quality boards and chispets and is very feature packed, especially when compared to a proprietary builder like HP. Also 3mb of memory? Are you sure? Memory needs to be paired, thats a big mistake even for HP. As for your intended use. I would recommend a SFF over a laptop. Even a high-end laptop has performance problems to overcome when doing presentations. The worst being heat. Heat reduces performance. The other being internal transfer speeds. SFF is built off desktop technology and will be much faster overall. Try our custom quote system, we can match with a slimline case or SFF system for the same price that will defiantly outperform any proprietary machine. http://www.shopl2.com/Articles.asp?ID=108
  2. If mobility is a major consideration, get the laptop. Otherwise, go for the HP Slimline. It is pretty good for the intended purpose. HP usually uses quality motherboards from ASUS. Motherboards with power hungry chipsets and sophisticated voltage regulator circuits are not ideal for slim cases as they generate more heat.
