- you can run programs in "compatibility mode" by right clicking on the program .exe (usually in your Program Files folder) and selecting "properties" then the "compatibility" tab. then select "run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" note that this does not ALWAYS work, but in most cases, it does.
- Hi there. I've been running Windows XP Office (version 2002) and Autocad 2006 under Vista with no problems for many months, during beta and for RTM. Also, could you give more specific details on "how" it's not working, as in what errors you get, or what the computer does when you try to open or run the programs. Try running virus scanners for possible viruses. One of the key tools for troubleshooting issues with Windows computers is Event Viewer. Using this console, you can view events recorded in the Application, System, and Security logs and use this information to try and resolve problems with your computer, and in this case, unresponsive apps. What you're looking at is under Application Logs heading, and find if you're getting errors. One thing I might try is go to the Autodesk website: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=9444806 As well as Microsoft website: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/FX100485361033.aspx?pid=CL100605171033 Try downloading and applying updates for your apps and see if that helps. Hope this helps
