I have a Dell 1320c laser printer and cannot print WordPerfect files. Help!!? (take 2)?

EXERPT OF ORIGINAL QUESTION (posted a little while ago) I have a Dell 1320c laser printer here at work, and I love it except for it will NOT print WordPerfect files.... If I need to print something that is in WP format, I generally just convert it to a PDF, which prints just fine...I have looked on Dell.com and Corel.com and I can't seem to find any fixes. I forgot to say what happens when i try to print. I get a dialog box that says: "The document page size is set to a custom form that may not be supported by this printer driver. If you incur problems set your document page size to printer defined sizes." I have tried every contortion to set page size (which is standard 8.5x11) but nothing has worked. One thing to note is that before this printer I had an HP (black & white), and got the same message. Difference there was, I hit enter and it printed, whereas with the Dell it blinks the "out of paper" light and I have to manually cancel the job. Ideas? Thanks!

  1. in word perfect, when you click print does a dialog box show? if it does, change properties or paper type to default or letter 8.5" x 11" and whatever is appropriate portrait or or landscape. you may get an error saying load paper or something similar. if you do just press continue/start button. check your yahoo email if you need additional help.
  2. Check the paper tray of the printer, the guides beside the paper usually tell the printer what size of paper it has. the 2 standards are A4 (for Europe) and "letter" for USA Make sure this is set to the paper you use open PRINTER folder, right click the printer driver select properties If you have an "advanced" tab, open that, then "printer defaults" or similar. Check if there is a paper size option there, match it to paper in printer. Click "APPLY" then OK come back to MAIN tab of driver, click "printing defaults" there, and check it matches with last setting entered. Now go back to WP (Close it and reopen) and check that it matches the driver and printer. if that still don't work, message me via Yahoo with EXACT message on the driver / printer. Also when in driver click teh "print test page" if that prints chances are it's a wordperfect setting to check, if it doesn't, it's a driver setting
