My wife has a home-based business which requires her to print up business cards, handouts for meetings, and our Lexmark x3470 inkjet just isn't doing it. The quality is nice, but the ink runs low FAST. I just bought a Brother HL-4040cn color laser printer with a mail in rebate of $120. The bottom line price with rebate? $279.00 Looking around that seems a VERY good price. But I have some questions about the operations before I decide to set it up or take it back. Is there a cheap way to refill the color toner? Or a specific place I should look for high capacity toner cartridges? (Or are the standard cartidges cheaper and better to go with). I'm looking at about $200.00 to change all the cartridges. I can get sheets printed for $0.20 at Office Depot, (Which is several THOUSAND copies for the price of the printer and the toner) as well as order business cards, but the freedom to print them at home in such quality seems too good for this price, but I'm worried about operational costs.
