lexmark e232 not working?

lexmark e232 laser printer is not functioning on our 2 computers it has been hooked up to. checked all wiring and it is correct. I do not have passcodes for these computers and cannot access admin functions, but need fix it info for hotel manager. the printer shows up on computer, and even prints test page when restarted, but on computer only shows as "error - offline." respond quickly please. what I need: a run through checklist of what they need to look at as possible fix it's. if printer has had any recalls or malfunctions with anyone else. what I could possibly do to repair it. thank you!!!

1. Reinstall the printer drivers and software which cam with the printer and if you don't have the cd then go to www.driversguide.com create a free account and search for the drivers, download and install
