  2. Best Buy has a good selection of laser printers: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=pcat17071&type=page&ks=960&st=laser+printer&sc=Global&cp=1&sp=&qp=crootcategoryid%23%23-1%23%23-1%7E%7Eq6c61736572207072696e746572%7E%7Encabcat0500000%23%231%23%23z&list=y&usc=All+Categories&nrp=15&iht=n Also try Office Depot: http://www.officedepot.com/browseSorting.do?Nr=200000&Ns=p_Price_2|0&N=2530452 The cheapest one I could find: http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?&langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&productId=125010&cmArea=SEARCH
  3. for starters dont get na laser printer. they suck. get a ink jet there cheeper to operate and have less problems p.s. get a lexmark
  4. In addition to the cost of the color printer, you need to also look at how much each color toner cartridge costs. A $300.00 color laser printer might look good until you have to buy 4 color toner cartridges at $79.00 each. Just keep it in mind while shopping for bargains.
  5. You're right to be looking for a laser printer rather than an inkjet. Inkjets tear through ink cartridges like there's no tomorrow. This is on purpose--ink cartridges is where companies make their money--and it's why inkjets are often given away or sold dirt cheap. I've had the same laser printer for over five years. I don't print constantly, but I do print a reasonable amount. And I still haven't had to change the toner! Now, that's black and white printing. COLOR laser printers are significantly more expensive than B&W ones. I also don't know much about them. I don't know about who makes the cheapest models, but quality-wise, I've always been impressed by HP printers. Canon printers use the same internal parts, so they would be very good as well.
  6. Why a color laser printer? A mid-range inkjet printer does as good of quality for cheaper prices. Need Proof? Looking at the HP Color Laserjet 2600n it cost 3 cents per page for a HP Brand Black cartridge, and it cost 12.3 cents per page for each of the colors. So it is 15.3 cents per page for KCMY. It cost $300 about and does around 8 ppm. Compare that to the HP OfficeJet Pro K5400 Series it only cost 1.5 cents per page for a HP Brand Black cartridge and 6.2 cents for the colors. Which means around 7.7 cents per page. Almost a 50% savings. Right now the DTN version (Duplex, Paper Tray, Network) is $200 at HP's website http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/product_detail.do?storeName=storefronts&landing=printer&category=Officejet&orderflow=1&a1=Type&v1=inkjet&product_code=C9277A%23A2L&catLevel=2 It also prints around 30 ppm. (numbers are found using the XL cartridges) So what one is a better option for you? Looking at those two, I would go with the Officejet Pro over the Color Lasers.
