printer driver defaults for foreign language. I have a brother HL-1440 laser. How do I fix to english?

I have a brother HL 1440 printer, since updating to SP2 in XP my computer has done some strange things. The print driver despite updating or resintalling from either the disk or the www.brother.com website it comes up in slovakia (i think) language which I can not read or understand when you hit the print preferences option. I have tried Brother but the help was useless. Can any one shed any suggestions on what to try?

1. make sure you have downloaded the right language driver for your product. start again, and watch for this.
2. on the disc there should be language button when you first install. if not send brother a e-mail asking for a new disc and stat you want it in (english). hope you get sorted.
