- you can unjam the printer by taking out the paper by removing the top of the printer where you usually insert the cartridge............
- This could be because there is growing dirty in the printer from the area around the printer and ink and all the printer will need is just cleaning as dirty is covering the sensors. Just use a slightly damp cloth or some sort of disposable towel and clean the printer, once the inside is dry fire it up and see what happens. If it continues contact brother and order a cleaning kit from them. Edit Maintenance guide here shows you how to get inside the printer for cleaning, start at 5-12 http://www.topedge.ro/info/BROCHURES/BROTHER/HL-2070N.pdf
- 3 possible causes: 1. Your printer has something jammed inside of it (paper, a pencil, a coin, etc...); open the access doors and remove the object(s) 2. You are trying to print something with larger margins than your printer can handle. Make sure they are set correctly. 3. Your printer settings direct the printer to the manual feed tray instead the the regular paper tray. Check your printer settings and change the default tray. HINT: Here's a quick way to determine if it is the printer's settings: >Unplug the USB or LPT1 cord from your printer >Turn off the printer (using the power switch on the right side) >Turn the printer back on >Press the "GO" button 5 times >>>If the printer's lights indicate a jam, it is because of your printer's settings (paper tray, manual feed, etc) >>>To fix the jam without turning the printer off again, insert ONE piece of paper into the manual feed, and then press the "GO" button. Try to put the paper in as straight as you can; you wouldn't want to cause a REAL paper jam would you? duckyquack2007@yahoo.com GOOD LUCK!
- Usually when this problem appears it has a sheet of paper wrapped around the heat roll of the fuser. Open the back of the printer, you should see a black roll and an orange roll (could also be 2 black rolls). If one of the rolls is white you have paper wrapped around it. The next thing that tends to cause this problem is the exit sensor for the fuser is broken or out of place.
