Have a brother MFC7820n laser printer says "toner has ended"?

i have printed lots and lots of paper and refilled the toner the printer refuses to print but the toner is full and everything is 100%i read something about a "flag gear" that is needed to reset something to make the printer print again. i know if i buy a new toner cartridge it will solve the problem but is there a way to reset the printer's memory or override the toner end message. guessing will not work, you either know the answer or you don't. thank you all.
