I have a wireless laptop and Lynksys router. Can I print on my Brother HL-5140 laser printer without a server?
How can I set it up so I can print wirelessly without having to buy a printer server?

- I've got a Brother-Printer, too. There should be an "N" (Brother HL-5140N) behind the name of your printer. The N stands for network, then the printer has a build-in network card and you can connect it to your router. Otherwise it won't be possible.
- It has a internal print server (check your documentation & setup instructions). All you need to do is connect it to your network and then install it's software on the pc's you want to be able to print to it. I have a brother mfc 640cw & found that setting it up to connect wirelessly is best done by connecting it first by ethernet & then setting it to operate wirelessly. For some reason it's wireless setup just doesn't take unless you first connect wired. Mine once setup works great via wi-fi.
