Should I get the Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Publisher, ect. for Mac?
I saw that it had a low rating but still... I think they work well. I just used up my free trial but I don't want to waste $150 on something crappy. Also, I'm looking for a printer from the Apple website. What's one that is relatively cheap, prints in both b/w and color, prints photos, and works well? Thanks!

- i ahve the microsoft office 2008 student so doesn't have publisher but word, excel, powerpoint, and a few others but i think its great even though i use it on my crappy mac computer at school. I have it also for my one at home (windows vista) and its way better.....switch to pc ... mac are for computer arts heck that was in 1990 now everything they have has a superior windows 3rd party program lol but i would say wait till u get a coupon b/c i got it free not pay 150 but also mind didn't come with it and if you have a slow/ old mac it will take awhile to load b/c of teh amazing hardware that apples ships hope this helps you make ur decision
- Instead of wasting your money, download NeoOffice at neooffice.org , It's free and has all the things that Microsoft Office has and you can even save in Microsoft Office formats. NeoOffice is for Macs only! OpenOffice (.org) is for Windows!
- NO NO NO NO NO. Horrible software. Publisher isn't available for Macs, and it's not compatible with any other graphics applications. That being said, you get better stuff for less, with Apple iWork. Any firewire or USB ink-jet printer will work on a Mac. Head on over to CostoCo.
- yes get it it really helps if your in school and you have to do like powerpoint projects
- it depends on what you primarily do. if you do a lot of spreadsheets and charts for science and math stuff then you should get ms office for mac. if you do more word processing and powerpoint-type stuff then definitely get iwork 08. there is a really good side by side comparison of both software suites in this month's issue of macworld magazine. they do the same project in excel/ numbers, powerpoint/keynote, and word/pages and tell you exactly what was good and bad about both. i highly recommend reading this review if you are at all undecided. they carry the magazine at barnes and noble so you can just read it in the store so you dont have to buy it.
