Color laser printers - is it worth it?

We are a church. We print a lot of things at Kinkos, etc. We can get a color laser printer for about $600. How long does the toner last?

1. Depends on the color laser. Some last a long time, some don't last long at all. Send a model number over and I will let you know.
2. the non-answer you'll get is "it depends". the variables are, how much color toner are you using per copy & how many copies are you making. keep in mind, laser toner is probably (guesstimating here), $50 a color, so besides black, you'll be dropping cash for 3 color toner cartridges.
3. It really depends upon the model you are intending to get. As a general rule, yes it is completely worth it. However be weary of any printer that takes the HP Q6001A, Q6002A, Q6003A, and Q6004A cartridges, they are very low capacity for a toner, only yield about 1000 pages per unit. That works out to roughly half the industry standard for the same price.
