can budget color laser printers produce photo quality results?

I don't want to spend more than about $700 so if not, I will get an inkjet instead

1. no. the pictures look ok on laser but it is not the same as ink jet , inkjets use a liquid ink and lasers use a powder you will not get the same results. It you are doing photos stick with ink jet it is more expensive to operate but much better pictures.
