Home Servers? I want to host pretty much a storage space for stuff for my website... i have a computer i could use as a server. I would like to use a linux OS... how would i do that? any one know of any good tutorials? and i would also like to use this as a place to back up my and run my home network.. could i do this too? and still use linux and would the linux net work be compatible with both windows and mac?

I'm trying to learn about home servers? I think I am asking of the right thing. Basically, I have all of my movies backed up on my hard drives, so I have several external hard drives but am running out of space on my desk. How to allow Internet user to connect to IIS home web server? I installed Internet Information Service (IIS) on my home PC and the web service is running successfully when I access http://127.0.0.1 or http://localhost. But I can't access it using my public IP address, of course I can access it through internal private address.
