Buying computer accessories, I need help and advice.? I need help in a couple areas. First and important, I need to know if I should try to hurry up and have a cord sent to me before my flight, in 6 days, to Spain, and wonder why I forgot to seek an adaptor from HP is that necessary, or will a common adaptor there be enough? To use the battery cord I don't know if I'm calling it the right word -- the cord that charges the computer up from the wall, so you can use it WIFI ...I'm a dinosaur trying to get hip. I also need to know if its better, generally to try to find an HP store itself to buy products, or do it online, what's better? I hope I don't need any equipment, but if I don't have the correct cord, how could I get equipment sent to me quickly, ASAP to say, Spain, or perhaps Italy, either. Another thing that could be reason to take care of where I purchase, or how, is I don't speak the local language well, maybe where I go there will not be very fluent in English, and I am sadly not fluent in theirs .... but I thought buying might help ingratiate myself to the locals which wuold be nice in itself. Can the HP smart auto adapter also run off AC power? Fair selling price for my computer and accessories? I have an HP Pavilion a620n desktop PC that I am considering selling to my friend. The PC has been upgraded with an additional 512 MB of RAM,a floppy drive,an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 video card,and a Soundblaster 5.1 surround sound card(not sure of the exact model). Everything thing else on the desktop is pretty much much what came from the factory. I am also selling the PC with an Acer AL1951 19" LCD monitor,a Logitech 5.1 surround sound system,a Logitech wireless mouse and model Y-RK56 wireless keyboard,and a Sony dual DVD-RW external drive(model number DRX-820U). Keep in mind all the items previously mentioned,including the PC,are in excellent condition. Internet connection came with my HP? So I have a Nintendo DSi I like to connect to the internet with. My parents got a new computer (Windows 7 HP) and went all out with accessories and even a new router. My Dad figured out how to put a WEP password on the router and won't give it to me. Oh well. This would be fine, due to having Parental Controls on the DSi that my Dad agreed to using, except for this problem. When I search for an internet connection I get the following two signals: NETGEAR (which is the router. It says it is locked and it has 0 bars even when you stand right next to it. Dad tried using the WEP on this, it doesn't work.) HP-Wireless (This is the strongest signal. It's locked as well. It suddenly appeared into the house after we got our new HP computer. HP gives off a wireless connection...? The WEP for our router doesn't work on this. So no one knows the WEP. I don't know how to find it, either. It's like the HP has it's own built in wireless router.) Any advice/help/ideas would be appreciated.

HP PSC 1410 All-in-One Maultfunctioning? Hi, My Uncle and Granddad own a new business - an Animal Park and we bought a brand new computer what is working great and a brand new HP PSC 1410 All-in-One printer what is not working so good... Sometimes the printer doesn't print until the computer is restarts... Sometimes the printer pulls in all of the paper in the paper-slot at first I thought it was the paper type so I bought several different types of paper but it does it to them all. Ink levels are full and connections are healthy and operative fine. Does anybody know why it has done this, I am shocked that a HP - who are normally a good computer/accessory making company. printer that is only three months old is not working correctly.

computer virus help? Windows XP - HP computer - using CA security I run my anti-virus and spyware daily - Thursday, the computer said I have the Win32/kollah.ME virus but it won't remove it. Updated it - still same thing Went thru the Program>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore set it back to Tuesday when I didn't show a virus - still showed up set it back to a week ago 7/26 - still show the virus set it back to 7/19 - still show the virus Tried downloading Panda - it won't finish Tried MicroTrend - you now have to buy an offer from an advertiser Tried AVG - got it on the desktop but it won't open I know I"m only supposed to have one Anti-virus program but I can usually remove it after I get fixed. Then tried RUN>and typed in regedit - then did a search for kollah found one under My Computer\HKEY_Current_User\software\microsoft the line looks like this: under NAME - ab (000 under TYPE - REG_SZ under DATA - kollah Can I just delete that and be done with this? or will I be shooting myself in the other I cannot download - see above. I have restored to 2 days prior to the problem showing up, 5 days and then 2 weeks - still the same problem. When you say "yes, delete" do you mean delete the kollah I see when I run regedit. Which is better, Dell Or HP Tablet? or other? Should I upgrade my old computer or buy a new one? Should I replace my Mac logic board or buy a new computer? The logic board to my white macbook of 2 years is damaged ( probably because I dropped it twice on the cement freshman year). It has microsoft office (which I need for school) and it's been upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. My college computer services will replace the logic board for $470 (includes price of the logic board and labor). Should I just repair my Macbook or buy a new computer. The thing is if I buy a new computer, I would probably buy a dell or HP that is around $500-650 without tax. I know these computers are less durable than a Mac. On top of that I'd be getting the minimum accessories on my computer. I also would have to invest in buying virus software and buy Microsoft Office. I think it's better to just repair my Macbook. Computer has no sound? I recently installed windows xp on my computer, its an HP pavilion mx704, but there is no sound. when i go to start > all programs > Accessories > entertainment > Volume control i get a message that says "there are no active mixer devices available. to install mixer devices go to control panel click Printers and other hardware and then click add harware" however when i do this it just gives me a list if hardwares connected to the computer and when i try to select one i think has somthing to do with the sound i get a message that says "the hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software. i think my sound card might need a new driver but i do not know what my sound card is. if anyone can help it would be a great help

What is wrong with my computer? I recently (end of April 2011) bought an Acer Aspire laptop. A few days later I went and bought a printer. When I set up the printer (and put the disk in) it didn't start up, but somehow used a back door to be able to print. So fast forward to today, I went to print again and even though the printer was on, my computer was telling me it was offline. I called HP and spent over an hour and a half speaking with them about getting everything to set up properly. Needless to say, no matter what we did (from turning off ALL virus programs etc) NOTHING would let me install the start up program for my printer. We tried all sorts of things, from downloading it from HP directly, trying my disk etc. They told me it was a computer issue and to contact ACER directly. Well I contacted ACER and was told for them to even ATTEMPT to fix my computer, I would have to pay a software warranty for $149.99. I've decided that after spending $300 on this computer, and even more on accessories, I will NOT pay them to help me with something that was clearly an issue from the start. I was going to do a system restore, but at this point, that won't do any good since only a few days after I bought the computer, it wouldn't load this software correctly. I'm at a loss of what to do. Not only a week ago my computer refused to hook up to my wireless internet...after dealing with the cable company and then the router company, they found that it was my computer. I called ACER about the issues and they said because my 30 day McAFEE was expiring (not for 11 days) it wouldn't allow me on the internet anymore and that I had to uninstall that and go buy another anti virus program. I did that, and while it fixed it for a couple days, I had more issues with the internet as well. I'm really unsure of what to do at this point...people at ACER will not waive the fees for me and provide me with any help unless I pay some outrageous fee. I really love this laptop and its perfect for what I want to do, it all just started because I wanted to print something. Thankfully HP told me a back door on how to print, but will have to do tons of stuff before I'm able to print on a regular basis. I just feel if I can't even have the start up wizard start for my hp printer, then lord only knows what other problems will arise on this computer. On a side note, I'm on windows 7 and EVERYTHING (updates/anti virus etc.) is up to date and there are no issues according to the computer. Any help is appreciated and I can try to answer any questions to help someone solve this issue. I have tried to disable everything on my computer to get this start up wizard to install, and it still hasn't. Another note: I bought a tablet and when I put the CD in to install it did without any issues at all. It just seems this printer won't install either manually or through the CD. Thank you.

I have a HP mini netbook? I have this Hp mini that runs WindowsXP and i have this program that wont let me do a restore on my computer. This program keeps blocking me out even the command prompt. It keeps poping up and saying the same thing over and over, "this file is ifected and a worm is trying to use you presonal info to get in it. I accidentally disabled my microphone. How do I re-enable it? I know people have already asked questions like this, but most of them say to look in Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Control. Yea, we bought this baby about 8 years ago. We got new laptops last summer and a new desktop last month. I would keep the scanner, it works great, but HP didn't bother to update the driver for Vista because they want you to just buy a new scanner. Yup, I still have the OS disks. Actually, I have all the original disks that came from Gateway w/ the computer. I ran KillDisk on the hard drive, then did a clean install of Windows XP, Works and the drivers for the adapter, scanner and printer. I may have the hard drive specs incorrect. When I bought it, I could have sworn it was an 80G. But when I ran the KillDisk and clean install, I opened up the control panel to look at the computer specs. And it said 32G... But it has never had issue running Windows, the standard programs and my husband used it to play Everquest (a MMORPG that is very graphic intensive), and never had a problem with it.

Is my Csrss.exe infected? Computer virus slowing down my computer. HJT scan included.? My computer is slowing do at random intervals for the past 2 days and for me having this computer for about 3 years this is extremely odd. Should I replace my Mac logic board or buy a new computer? The logic board to my white macbook of 2 years is damaged ( probably because I dropped it twice on the cement freshman year). It has microsoft office (which I need for school) and it's been upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. My college computer services will replace the logic board for $470 (includes price of the logic board and labor). Should I just repair my Macbook or buy a new computer. The thing is if I buy a new computer, I would probably buy a dell or HP that is around $500-650 without tax. I know these computers are less durable than a Mac. On top of that I'd be getting the minimum accessories on my computer. I also would have to invest in buying virus software and buy Microsoft Office. I think it's better to just repair my Macbook. At least I know it's a durable computer and has everything I need on it already. However, my cousin who works at best buy says it's not worth it and just to buy a new computer. What should I do?

My HP Windows Vista Desktop Simply Won't Power On When I Press The Power Button.? Ok, i wanted to edit this song of mine on my HP Vista and when i went to turn it on, it simply did nothing. I checked the power bar it is plugged into and it is working fine as it has other electronic accessories plugged into it which are working fine. I then checked to see if the power cord was in properly; it was; did not change the situation. i tried a different power cord, (brand new actually) and... nothing. It still did not work. I then noticed a little red thing underneath the power cored input in the computer. I realized it was "switchable". i switched it, still nothing, i switched it again, nothing. aside from that, the monitor works, the speakers work and the computer is not that old (maybe a year). Before you give me an idea as to help, remember, i cant get any electricity to the computer so the computer is literally and big box of metal and plastic. Please help me out, i have a lot of my music that i cant get back on it.

How can my computer run XP on 49.66+MB of Physical Memory? I noticed my HP Pavilion XL866i was running very slow so I went to Start->Programs->Accessories->Systems Tools->System Information. After a short loading period here's what it said for memory: Total Physical Memory 255.48MB Available Physical Memory 49.66MB....this number changed to 54.57MB while I was preparing this question.....I did it again and it shows 54.18MB of Available Physical Memory......? What has happened to my memory? And how could a computer running Windows XP Home with SP2 run on that. I went to Crucial Memory and scanned my memory.....it said this computer can hold a maximum 512MB of memory in two slots; 256MB per slot...........but it shows both of slots empty!! What's going on? How can I verify what I have without going into the case and looking. Besides, even if it has one stick of 256MB SDRAM it must be bad or something. Help!! my computer is running slow...Help PLEASE!!! I've tried many things? my computer (especially internet) is running kind of slow. I have internet through my cable company (high speed) and it used to go faster awhile ago. i have done things such as clearing temporary internet files and cookies stored locally under documents and settings, going to internet options and deleting the files under that as well as going under settings and viewing the files and deleting them. I have gone under C:\Windows\Prefetch and deleting everything in the folder (but not the folder itself) I have also done a disk clean up through Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Clean Up. I dont know how to clear the cache (or where to find it) of ALL internet pages EVER visited. I have AVG, Zonealarm firewall as well as windows firewall. i have an HP pavilion 310n with Windows XP SP2 if there are any other ways to clean it up or make it run faster i would greatly appreciate your knowledge!! I have also done msconfig.exe under run and changed startup programs already.

Why is everything on my computer gone? The start button and task bar on the desktop computer (I am using my laptop currently) is still there, but most of the icons are missing. How can I connect my desktop to wifi? The router worked for a few months until the computer stopped getting connection from it. I want to use certain ipod & itunes apps. Compact Presario Trouble shooting? I have a Compac Presario, my son forgot his password, he did system recovery, un-plugged all the accessories, he just left the mouse, monitor, and keyborad, in the end the screen goes black, and it is playing music.
