What is the best gaming notebook/laptop or what specs make it great? I'll start by giving you a list of what I've found regarding specs and then the most notebook (and accessories) for the best price and then can you tell me what you think? 100+ GB Hard Drive 2+ GB RAM 512+ MB video card (which brand is best?) 2+ GHZ processor I've found HP, IBM Lenovo, Compaq, and Fujitsu to be the most notebook for the best price. What do you think? The game I play the most is World of Warcraft. My husband and I have become such complete WoW nerds that we must have a spare computer and get a new account for me (transferring my characters of course). Customizing an HP laptop..? Consumer Reports said that the HP dv9700t is a great laptop, so I went on the site and decided to see what this laptop has to offer. Which would be better for my personal needs? It's my birthday next month and I have a basic list of a wireless router, a wii game (Super Mario Galaxy 2 if it really matters (which it doesn't)), and an external disk drive. I know exactly what kind of router I need, and there's only one SMG2 to choose from, but the disk drive is giving me trouble. I have an HP notebook laptop, so I don't have any disk drive. I have a bunch of DVDs and CDs and games. My old desktop isn't very good with playing PC games, so I haven't installed anything yet. So I want to install them on my notebook. So my question is, should I get a DVD drive or a CD drive? I am comparing brands and such on Amazon right now and I just searched for usb cd drive. I didn't know that there was a difference. It was a relief that they had a whole category of USB drives, and I was thinking that it would be better to sort through the category. So I clicked on the link to the section for CD drives. It is under Electronics > Computers & Accessories > Internal Laptop Components > CD Drives. I thought it was convenient until I looked at the categories on the left side of the screen and saw that there were four categories: Blu-Ray Drives, CD Drives, DVD Drives, and Hard Drives. What are the differences between them and what would I need for games, CDs, and DVDs? And do you have any recommendations for one specific brand? I know what Blu-Ray is and I don't have any Blu-Ray disks. So that just leaves CD, DVD, or Hard Drive. Which would I need?

I need help with my Laptop Please.? I have had my laptop for ages but never used all the accessories. Now I found that I should be able to receive digital channels on my laptop. I have an HP Pavilion dv2000t CTO Notebook PC and a HP ExpressCard, DVB-T TV Tuner. I have connected a small areal which came with the laptop to the Express Card. Used the remote to set up my Windows Media Centre, and NO channels found. If someone could just tell me if I need to do anything more before I can receive channels. What should i use to cool my laptop? I own a pretty nice laptop. Its more like a mobile desktop. its an HP Pavilion dv7. it can do anything i need it to but at the cost of getting very hot. i know that its as easy as keeping it ventilated but sometimes that severely sacrifices comfort and practicality. It hard enough to find accessories for a 17+ inch widescreen laptop but i cant even get started with this. i know the most common is the cooling pad with fan. (1) but there are also the one that are basically just stands/pads with out fans. Keyboard locked out on HP Ze5200 - how do i unlock it? The keyboard on my laptop is not working. I have tried: 1. uninstalling it and reinstalling 2. updating the BIOS 3. Pressing keys with the padlock symbol on them 4. Rolling back/uninstalling the drivers It will not let me use System Restore and when it boots up, the laptop seems to not recognise me depressing the F2 or F8 keys. Here is the wierd part though... When I open 'command prompt' from the start/accessories menu, I can type into this box on the C:\ prompt. However, I cannot type into any application on the PC: Office, Internet explorer, notebook, etc. So the question is: a. Is there a solution to unlock this keyboard or... b. Is it unserviceable and needs repalcing.

Came with Vista, but I put WinXP on mine and found all the drivers on the internet. The construction is very sturdy hard plastic, none of the cheap flimsy stuff. The only way to free it up was to manualy power down. I unistalled Norton and installed AVG Free. NO more problems !!!! This is a very fast easy to use laptop with all the bells and whistles. The Turion 64 dualcore processor and the 2GB of RAM make short work of everything I throw at it; I have Pidgin (my IM client), Firefox (with 3 tabs open, including YouTube), LimeWire, and uTorrent all running at the same time and there is absolutely no slowdown whatsoever. My only gripes are that it gets a little bit hot when charging, and the battery only lasts for an hour and a half; I can deal with heat and the battery can be easily upgraded. The only thing you have to worry about with refurbished products is the look, not performance; Mine came with a small scratch in the top of the case, but performs like a champ. If you don't mind some minor cosmetic flaws, I'd definitely recommend this computer to anyone on a budget, especially at this price! Need assistance deciding on a new laptop mini? I'm stuck between the following 3 choices. I'm not on the pc much. My DH and I use our current one primarily to surf, check email, play pogo.com sometimes. I also use Napster for my mp3 player. DH sometimes listens to radio shows. That's really it.
