I have a HP Color laserjet 1600 printer just six months old which doe not print Red, HP is not solving issue? TheHP Color laserjet 1600 printer is six months old and is in warrenty. it is now not printing Red, The engineer checked and asked me to replace the the original majenta catridge supplied by HP as part of the printer at my cost. The catridge is 60% full and is original which costs around Rs. 4000. Now they says that the printer warrenty does not include consumables and i have to replace it my own. it will cost 30% of the printer price. I heard these printers have a common problem with printing majenta color. any one having any idea to help?. If there is no guarantee why hp speaks of its genuine advantage?
HP ColorLJ 2600N printing error. Magenta does not print.? I have a HP Color LasterJet 2600n The magenta feathers across the page. If you divide the page into thirds, the middle of the page prints perfectly, the right and left thirds feather. They go from white to solid and then solid to white. I installed a new OEM toner cartridge, and have the same results. It is the magenta cartridge that does not print correctly. Yellow, Cyan and Black are fine. The supplies status page says that I have 97% remaining. I've cleaned the ground connection to the left of the toner cart, I've cleaned the two electrical connections behind the toner cart, I've cleaned the two electrical connections on the toner cart. I verified that the LED paths are also clear. I do not want to replace a printer if I can fix this one. Suggestions?? Joao == nope, it is a new toner and the status page reports 97% remaining. I found the problem. Since the magenta is the bottom color, it had the problem first. Yellow was going to fail soon. The laser mirrors were dirty. The magenta and the yellow face upward, gravity causes the toner and dust to settle on the magenta and yellow mirrors. I had to disassemble the printer to get to the lasers, a couple q-tips to dust the mirrors and canned air to blow out anything else.... A couple test pages later, my printer works fine now.
Why do I need to have HP digital monitor open at boot? My pc is running very slow I also noticed included in this is HP solution center and HP supplies. I can figure out if ink is low, or if I am out of paper (I don't need HP Supplies). This flash screen for this -- is annoying. Will my printer not work if I disable this at boot??? Won't it open if I manually open it???? or print something
How do I get the exact color displayed on PC screen to print from HP D7650 printer exact? I am trying to restore old photos and when I achieve the results I want, my printer is shades off from what is diplayed on the screen. I have a new computer with Windows Vista software. My ink supplies are adequate, the photo paper is of high standard and and I select "Best" print to achieve a high quality photo. The result is a great photo but the color is no where near what I worked to get.

I really need to get it working, so i can check my ink levels. Thank you Zach Best answer = 10 points.
where can i find the correct driver for a HP LaserJet 5L printer? I have a HP LaserJet 5L printer and since it doesn't automatically install with plug'n play I think I need a driver for it. When i go to www.hp.com and search for the driver for this printer all I find is this page: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=15005&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=25480&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228 I've tried downloading the file, but the description says "Shop for HP Supplies" and this file does not help my printer work at all. I know the printer can function because when I turn the power on it automatically prints a test page, but when I try to print anything else (for example a microsoft word document) it says it can't print. And I don't know what the problem is. Do you think that is the correct driver file for my printer? And if yes, then what am I doing wrong with the adding of this printer that it cannot print any print job? I emailed HP Customer Service already, but they don't provide email help for this product...

is it safe to uninstall these programs? i recently installed the drivers for an HP printer on my desktop. with the install, the friendly people at HP put a lot of extra garbage software on my computer such as "shop for HP supplies" and "HP smart web printing". i went to uninstall these unwanted programs from my CPU, but a warning message came up and told me that if i uninstalled these programs it could negatively affect my new printer. seriously? uninstalling "shop for HP supplies" will be detrimental to the new hardware? im not sure weather or not it's ok to proceed with the uninstall, so can anyone tell me if these programs have any use at all, or if i need to worry about the well being of my printer if i do choose to uninstall them? thanks in advance!

How can the margins be altered for a hp3940 printer using windows xp? Recentely I bought a new computer system. A HP 3940 was supplied with it. When printing the text graphics etc. runs off the end of the page with everything I print off, especially from web pages. I've tried everything I can think of except altering the margins because I can't find where to alter them. If anyone knows how to resolve this problem I have I would be very grateful.
HP OfficeJet7110 won't print even after replacing new ink cart. /now has one "cyan" prhd prob. still won't prt I bought this 2nd hand from office supply store (used in store only) and have already put more parts into it (pwr. mod./pwr.cord. col.& blk. ink cart.) all for about $75 and am hesitant to add more. It cycles through after install. software etc. like it will print but flashes (bad printhead/replace cyan) and even with that will print nothing....The paper comes out with no ink. If anyone knows if this is worth adding the cyan prthd, I'll be glad to do that, but I was thinking that it should be printing the black ink at this point unless it needs cleaning, etc. Any solutions for cleaning, repair, salvaging this problem are deeply appreciated. THANKS!!
Why won't my hp LaserJet 2550L printer print? The printer was working fine the last time i used it but this time it didn't do a thing. Didn't make the warming up noise or anything. I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem but there is an orange light (not flashing just shining) on the top of it next to a yellow dot. It has a full supply of paper and everything. Anyone who can help me out would be the best. Thanks guys :-)
My computer isn't working with the printer. Help!? Whenever I try to print something it opens the print queue but it says that all of the documents are stopped. it says "hp Supplies Tool has quit unexpectedly" and I can't get it to print. The printer works with other computers and my computer can print to other computers. Any help? By the way, I have a MacBook.
My printer is jammed too far back for me to reach, what can I do? I have a HP PSC 1510 All-in-one printer. I was testing to see how it would print on my wedding invitation envelopes and used a doubled piece of typing paper to run through to test, and that piece of paper got jammed. It's jammed so far back inside that I cannot reach it. Is it safe to take screws out to try and get a better reach to the paper? How can I fix this? I have to finish printing my invitations soon and have things for my college classes that will need printing in the next few days and cannot afford a new printer and ink supply. This model doesn't have a back access point, and I bought it almost two years ago so warranty voiding isn't a big deal to me.
HP Officejet L7680 continuous ink supply problem.? I installed the CIS for L7680 and for atleast 1 month there was no problems. Then the problem started. The ink level of BLACK became zero and when I print any documents the blank ink will not be there. Is this the problem of the chips ? So please help me to repair this problem. Thank you.
Is this return policy the same as in US/Europe? I bought a Brother multifunctions from a reputable office supplies store in Bangkok, Thailand. Two days later I was dissatisfied with the color printing quality, so I have my local assistant called up the store and asked them if I could exchange for an HP (more expensive) and pay for the differences. They told me yes, but I've got to pay for the ink cartridges that have already been opened. I was just curious whether this policy is the same in US/Europe or this just happen in 3rd world countries???
Why won't my remanufactured HP cartridge work? I purchased an unopened "remanufactured" HP 97 replacement cartridge at an reputable, national office supply chain. The cartridge has the "HP" logo and serial number on it and a date that I assume is an expiration date for earlier this year. I tried this cartridge in my Deskjet 6980 and the printer says "There is a problem with the color print cartridge. To solve the problem: 1. Remove the print cartridge. 2. Reinsert the print cartridge. If the problem persists, replace the cartridge..." I tried the remove/replace, but this cartridge will not work, just new (expensive) ones. What now? Is this a common problem, and what is my solution, short of buying "only HP" cartridges? (I cannot take this back to the store--it is opened.) Thanks! To be more clear: Of course I did remove the cover that is like a little piece of tape that keeps the thing from leaking in the box, and yes, I did actually try cleaning up the area where the ink comes out to make sure the ink wasn't dried on.
HP Laserjet in Economode, will it wore out toner cartridge? On almost all HP laser printers, there is a built in toner saver mode called economode which is supposed to use 50% less toner per printed page. If you only print text and don't care about the more draft-like look, economode will suffice. BUT I read a blurb from an HP manual that recommends not using this setting full-time because it's possible the toner supply will outlast the mechanical parts inside the cartridge. Has anyone experienced any worn mechanical parts and if so, does it make any difference in your opinion of whether to turn on economode or not?
Can I use Alternative Colors instead of Black in my HP Laser Jet CM1312nfi MFP Printer? I have a HP Color Laser Jet CM1312nfi MFP printer. I am running out of Black Cartridge. But I have red and green ones. This Printer has four Cartridges Which are Blac, red, yellow and green I guess. The black Cartridge is fully out of ink. I wanted to use the other extra red Cartridge which I have in my stock instead of this black one. But the Printer doesn't accept it. We are in a remote area, and our supply comes after every 3 weeks. And we have a lot of papers to print. I was wondering if there is any way I can be advised. Thanks in advance.
Need help reconnecting cable ribbon and power supply unit.? I have an HP Pavilion a1423w desktop computer. My brother removed the power supply unit and the cable ribbon that has the printed letters "Master", "Motherboard", and "Slave". Does anyone know where I can get online visual schematics on how to reconnect these two pieces of hardware?
Why aren't Costco ink refills detected by my printer and computer? I have an HP Photosmart C3180 printer. Buying new ink cartridges is very expensive so I went to Costco to try out their ink refill offer. I put the new cartridge in but when I check the ink supply on Microsoft Word, it says it's empty. Help? I've printed out test papers but those aren't exactly helpful because I would like to know the level of ink supply that I have.
I just installed SnowLep. 10.6 on my Powerbook, and my printers don't work. Help? I have an HP 920C printer and an HP 1310 all-in one. When I installed 10.6 OS, all my printers disappeared. I found and downloaded a driver for the 1310, and that seems OK now. But the 920C, which I use as a photo printer, doesn't work. I tried the two drivers on the HP site, and I get errors (hardware communication error, although the test page is OK). Apple supplies a non-HP 920C driver which mostly works, but prints photos much too dark. Anyone know where I can get a driver for the HP 920C ? Or what my problem is? And I have not even tried my HP 4890 scanner yet ! Apple support page does nothing. HP will charge me money to answer a call on a 5 year old printer.
What do you do when your computer needs more RAM installed but it won't be covered under extended warranty? In late 2007, I bought a lap top using Vista, with 1 GB (2 x 512 MB RAM sticks installed) of DDR 2 667MHZ. I only really use the lap top for general internet use, and word processing/printing. Even though Vista uses (takes up) at least 512 MB of RAM, I have been told that despite non intensive use of my lap top (graphics, games, downloading video/s and audio) that computers using Vista, needs at least 2 GB of RAM to operate and run smoothly/well/optimumly. The Manufactuers Warranty (Hewlett Packard) that went for 1 year, expired in late December 2008, and it is now under a 1 year extended warranty done by Clive Peeters and Lumley (An Insurance Company) I have been told that if I add (install) any other RAM (different to the original supplied by the manufacturer, that I will not be covered if (say new RAM I buy, causes something bad to happen to the computer) Is there any way I can get around this? I don't know that you can find or buy approved Hewlett Packard RAM from anywhere/Australian retailers, and even if you could, it would be much more expensive such as $ 119 AUD for 1 GB of RAM, rather than buying any other/alternative/cheaper brand of RAM from anywhere. If I install the new/additional RAM myself, that would void the extended warranty too would't it? Even if something did go wrong with the computer with new/changed RAM in it, and turned off/unplugged the lap-top and replaced the New RAM with the original RAM supplied by HP, the company/companies who I bought the extended warranty from, would still somehow tell that a technical problem wouldn't be caused the originally supplied RAM (by HP) would they? What cheaper sticks of RAM are good and reputable for HP lap tops/notebooks, and which brands of RAM which I steer clear of? I heard Zeppelin is a bad brand. I can't afford to spend $119 AUD (or anywhere that sum/amount of money) on RAM
My hp photosmart 7150 turned off by itself and it's not turning on! Why? My printer was working perfectly fine, right? But it ran out of paper, so I hastily added a paper in there. But the paper was not correctly placed inside the printer so it got jammed and it automatically shut itself off. So I took out the paper, yeah? I still think that some of the paper pieces got stuck...but the printer is not turning on again! I plugged the USB connectors and the power supply it was connected to and re-plugged it in and it still won't print anything! Help! I can't call for services cuz I'm broke!
can anyone help w/ fixing my grammar? im a international student...? Please help... im a international student. Hewlett-Packard Company is known as world’s largest maker of personal computers and also one of the world's largest information technology companies operates in nearly every country. William R. Hewlett and David Packard found this company in 1939. HP’s Major product lines include personal computing devices, enterprise servers, related storage devices, as well as a diverse range of printers and other imaging products. They are targeting in variety of fields; households, small to medium sized businesses and as well as online distribution, consumer-electronics and office-supply retailers, software partners and major technology vendors. As a world’s largest information technology company, there are still few problems that company is facing. Few of the problems that HP is facing are drop in sales, decline in imaging and printing group avenue, and decline in software revenue. One of the major problem that HP is facing is that drop in sales. HP saw its sales dropped 19 percent to $8.19 billion: PCs, Printers, Servers, and Software. There are some possible reasons why the sale has declined due to possible economic crisis, quality of products, trend of new technologies, and other competitors in the market. By looking at an evidence of constant drops of HP’s sales, there are some possibilities that HP’s sales wouldn’t improve in anytime soon. At this point, serious action must be taken to solve this problem. There are many ways to solve the issues starting from switching the locations/territories, and plan a better advertisement/marketing strategy. But my recommendation to this solution is to improve products and sales by managing the relationship between development and sales team, and catch up with the new trend of the technologies and hit the market with the new product that has same benefit, much more convenient, and more affective compared to PC products. To support my thought of recommendation, besides looking at the formal graph of statistics, we can easily find the mobile phone that has same function as computer. According to Forrester Researcher Report, they have researched and has clearly announced with their back up evidence that PC sales will continue to decline, much as they have for the past several years. Just by planning or making a first step into this industry will have a huge impact of HP’s future.
Vista isn't loading on HP notebook? Ok, this is how it is. Last night after i hit the shut down button, the screen went blank but the system didn't exactly shut down, which i could tell since the media buttons were still active. After waiting for around 10 min i hit the POWER button to switch it off. Now when i try to restart it, the screen goes blank after the "Microsoft splash screen" which means the password login/finger print detection screen doesnt show up. I tried safe mode, system recovery and even the boot disk tht was supplied, nothin seems to be working. Plz help or my dad will fry me =[
Best printer/scanner/copier? I had an HP all-in-one 7300 series where the power supply would keep frying. One day it would work, then all of a sudden it just wouldn't turn on anymore. At first I thought that the power supply had just gone bad, so I replaced it, but the same thing happened only a few months later. Trust me, I've been in the IT field for a long time and I troubleshot to make sure it wasn't the specific outlet or the cord that connect to the power supply. Definitely two power supplies failed. I want to find a good quality, cheap printer that prints, copies, and scans. Not professional level scanning, just enough so I can scan physical pictures I have and have the digital quality turns out pretty nice. Any suggestions? I was thinking about looking towards the epson brand since the last HP gave me so many problems. But I am the most familiar with HP's, and I kind of feel like they may be more compatible as far as printing envelope options and such in Microsoft Word as opposed to Epson. Opinions?
Even if the printer says wireless does it still need to be hooked up to a computer? I just purchased a wireless printer and it has a USB port for it. I went out to buy the USB because HP doesn't supply them. i have a laptop i bought also thinking that the printer was wireless meaning nothing needs to be plugged into it only the power. i got a small media cart with wheels and i was going to put my laptop on there along with my "wireless" printer. I couldn't get it to work with the USB unplugged. (printing from my laptop) so i set up the driver on my desktop and then plugged in the printer to the laptop. i printed something from my desktop to the printer that's plugged into the laptop. I want to print multiple photographs on a single sheet of paper. Photography software suggestions? Camera is a Canon Power Shot 100, Printer is an HP Photosmart A626. Supplied programs suck eggs. ACDSee and Photoshop 7 are better by far, but don't deliver the professional capabilities I was promised when buying it. I need suggestions on photographic software that will allow me to print multiple images on one sheet... Any constructive feedback is greatly appreciated. As of 11 am, Saturday 19 April, I've seen 7 replies, and they all look great. I had no idea Word, XP and Photoshop 7 could do that. Thank you all so much! Now how do I pick best answer?

??????? Supply Memory Error ?????????? I have an hp Color LaserJet 1600 printer that i just installed today. When i went to do a test print, I got and keep getting "Supply Memory Error Magenta". What do i do to fix this??
HP photosmart c5180 won't print? In Word, I go to print, and the printer is listed as HP Photosmart C5100 series. The print job icon comes up, and indeed it seems to be processing the kb of data. But then it comes up with "Deleting job", or words to that effect. The job vanishes and nothing gets printed. I replaced all the empty and expired ink cartridges, and managed to make a colour and B&W photocopy, so I know the printer is working. I'm pretty tech savvie, and this is I feel, just one of those teething problems. However, it is a bit odd hence me posting on here. The printer is hooked up to a Dell Latitude C400 with freshly formatted harddrive and fresh install of Windows 2000. Had a few problems getting the laptop to recognise it, but in the end it did, using the supplied CD-ROM with Win2000 drivers. Any experience with this appreciated I should have noted that the printer is connected by USB, not wirelessly. All the manufacturer drivers on the CD-ROM were installed.
Printer giving shadows with XP Deskjet 640C? I was working fiine on Win-98. When I upgraded to Win XP, in black print of text, I get a shadow line by the side of each alphabet. The original supplied driver of deskjet (HP) 640C is not compatible with Win XP so I use the driver that comes with Win XP .
What should i need to know before i buy a laser printer to replace my inkjet? iv had enough with the expensive ink replacement procedures with my HP officejet, so i am eyeing a replacement, a laser one i plan on getting this printer: This printer already comes with a temporary ink supply, providing 1,000 printed pages. When i need more ink, i will need to buy the Brother Laser Toner Drum Unit (DR-360), which costs $140, and this will provide 12,000 pages http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0926INGFS10100615&catid=25114&logon=&langid=EN Is this a good deal? What other maintenance and expenses should i be aware of with laser printers? thanks for any feedback =]
Why won't my printer work? It's an HP Deskjet 940c; I'm using Windows Vista. It was working fine just the other day, and now when I try to print a test page, it comes up as 'Error' when I open up the pending documents. The printer has power to it, paper, ink, cartridges installed correctly, USB port is functioning and have tried other ports as well. The driver is up-to-date and has been uninstalled & re-installed. Could the power-supply of my computer effect my computer's ability to print? I've read that my computer comes standard with a pretty crummy power supply. As stated in my details, the driver is fine. It is also compatible.

My Macbook is not printing to any printer? My Macbook running Mac OS X 10.4.11 is not printing to any USB printer. It recognizes printers when I plug in the USB, and I have gone into the Printer Setup Utility to set up the printer. The USB appears to be working also because on my HP Photosmart C2480 All-In-One, it will scan images to the computer without a problem. However, when I click to print, although the queue will pop up on screen, no documents are added to the queue. Similarly, if I go into Printer Setup Utility, if I select the "Utility" or "Supply Level" buttons, the icons in my dock will move to the left briefly, as though another icon were about to go there to open up the utility, but then they go right back and nothing opens up. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, and also "Reset Printing System" in the Printer Setup utility. Thanks!

Mine looked brand spanking new. Very fast, the battery does last only 1 1/2 hours, but I got an extra battery for $65 on eBay used and it works nicely. Came with Vista, but I put WinXP on mine and found all the drivers on the internet. The construction is very sturdy hard plastic, none of the cheap flimsy stuff. Overall the value is great, it feels and looks more durable than laptops of the past, and is fast. Great buy. REVIEW BY: Rick M. Reviewed Aug 07, 2008 I bought this laptop a week ago.and received it Wednesday. Excellent condition, I would have thougt I just picked it up at a store. My only problem was when I allowed Norton Internet Security to load (60 day trial)and then brought up the internet, half way through loading, the system locked up. The only way to free it up was to manualy power down. I unistalled Norton and installed AVG Free. NO more problems !!!! This is a very fast easy to use laptop with all the bells and whistles. Also very fast shipping,3 days. VERY HAPPY REVIEW BY: fraqtured Reviewed Aug 06, 2008 i bought the T1625 which is essentially the same specs as this, and wanted to input the impression i drew from the t1625. first off, great price, amazing features, and with a laptop cooler running $40 dollars for a middle of the road model, this laptop will run cool [the only complaint i have found on these was the heat] and you will have picked yourself up a top with features running in some cases nearly twice as much in price of a non refurbs, which will only be the refurbs of tomorrow. run all the updates through gateway, and do a clean reinstall and pertition reformat when you unpack, it, it will take a little bit of time, but will point you in a much faster direction. this laptop is highly recomended in my opinion. REVIEW BY: Reviewed Aug 05, 2008 This is my first purchase from TD.com, and I'm very satisfied with it. The Turion 64 dualcore processor and the 2GB of RAM make short work of everything I throw at it; I have Pidgin (my IM client), Firefox (with 3 tabs open, including YouTube), LimeWire, and uTorrent all running at the same time and there is absolutely no slowdown whatsoever. My only gripes are that it gets a little bit hot when charging, and the battery only lasts for an hour and a half; I can deal with heat and the battery can be easily upgraded. The only thing you have to worry about with refurbished products is the look, not performance; Mine came with a small scratch in the top of the case, but performs like a champ. If you don't mind some minor cosmetic flaws, I'd definitely recommend this computer to anyone on a budget, especially at this price! Your computer uses memory to run your Operating System, applications, peripherals, and to generate and display graphics on your computer monitor. Video memory is a form of RAM, and is either built into your motherboard; or on a graphics card (video card). Depending on the motherboard's configuration, and that of the video card (if separate or built-in to the motherboard), your computer may have to draw on its own RAM memory to meet its video memory needs. This creates shared memory, where your computer’s RAM will be shared between its own Processor (CPU) and its graphics chip. The result is that some systems will have shared memory, some will not. If you have 2GB (for example) of system memory installed, you may notice that your system reports significantly less memory. This is because your system is using shared memory for your video. What can you do about this? You can actually configure this shared memory through your computer’s BIOS settings. However, this is a setting best left alone, since it is typically optimized for display performance, and making changes may impact display resolutions, and other video capabilities. The simplest solution is usually to either: increase your system memory; or to upgrade the video hardware. By upgrading to a new video card with built-in video memory, then turning off shared memory, you will free your system to use it's maximum potential memory, and provide your system with much more robust video features. Click Here for our Memory Options » Click Here for the latest Video Cards » How Much Memory Do You Really Have? When you look at the specifications for a computer, it will display the installed memory, and typically the maximum memory that can be installed. However, while these are real values, they represent a potential useable memory. The actual useable memory may be different from these values. The reason is simply that a computer may configured to use shared memory, which reduces the amount of RAM that is available to the CPU by using some of it for other purposes, such as for video memory. In some cases, you can control the maximum useable memory through system settings, and by upgrading to a video card that has internal onboard video memory. But always remember, that the amount of memory that your system reports, is not always the amount of actual installed memory. If you find that you need more memory, we suggest expanding your system memory, since this is the most effective performance increase, and the one that is easiest to perform .
