DELL vs HP laptops. Which to buy for college purposes? I'm into college now so i think i need a laptop for project purposes and to view my lecturers' powerpoint slides. I heard dell and hp are good for this uses but there are also pros and cons on both so it was really contradicting. I want use the laptop for powerpoints, words, excels and many other windows programmes. I may also use it for music entertainment, play some online games and facebook. and i download shows to watch so a memory of slightly above average will be preferred. I don't know how much memory do the shows takes but if you know please help me out :> Budget to be < S$1500, to be affordable and good to use at the same time. I'll like it to be easily portable and yet not small and not big..Just average. I do mind on the looks of the laptop. And my dad also purchased an extended 2 yrs warranty, thus making it 3 yrs warranty, However now i would wish to upgrade my harddisk. Satellite television on laptop? I'm from Singapore and I'm hoping someone out there can answer my question. I own a HP Pavilion laptop and there's this program HP Media-smart. It says that if I buy a TV antennae in the form of a card or USB, I can watch TV on my laptop. HP Pavillion DV6 audio not working? My laptop is Pavillion DV6 (bought in singapore), recently the audio stopped working. The laptop has a quicklaunch button to mute and unmute quickly, when the laptop is unmuted the button is red (muted) when i mute the laptop the button turns white (unmuted), this means i can never get sound from my laptop. I've tried reinstalling IDT Audio Drivers, updating from HP website, uninstalled and reinstalled the quicklaunch function but nothing works, any other ideas would be greatly recieved Cheers Ive tried all software updates and troubleshooting on the HP website below but this is obviously not a common issue, thanks for your answer anyway though. Any other suggestions?

HP nightmare? I am a research engineer at the National University of Singapore. My Pavilion notebook after sending for warranty repair on 3/12/2007 returned after 2 weeks on 19/12/2007 with many scratches. After just one day spoilt again (defective LCD in both cases). After sending in again on 21/12/2007 and complaining to the service center, they agreed to send me a replacement. At first they said it would take a few days but now they say it will take two weeks. I am sick and tired of waiting and having to constantly monitor my case. I have lost all confidence in HP. This is my first and last purchase. It has already wasted 2 months of my warranty. The laptop spoilt after only 3 weeks of use (purchased on 28/10/2007). Today is already 28/12/2007. I wish to request a full refund for both my laptop and the extended warranty so that I can forget this nightmare and get a different brand laptop. Is it possible to get a refund from HP? Can you help me choose a laptop? I am a power user and a business student. I will either buy a high end system else or I will buy a cheap netbook and wait for better priced systems to come out. I can buy the laptop/netbook from either India/Singapore/Malaysia, so please Englighten me on where they might be cheaper. So far I have narrowed down on: A) Fully Upgraded HP HDX 16 B) Fully Upgraded Dell Studio 15 The difference between these two isn't much. The price is almost the same but the Dell is available in India (where I reside) and I will need to look around a bit for the HP. Both cost approximate 1580 US$ The Dell has a 720p 15.6 inch display whereas the HP has a 1080p 16 inch display. The dell has an inferior graphic card, about 80% perfomance of HP's graphic card. Other than these there isn't much difference in the specification, its just that I will need to buy the HP from either Singapore or Malaysia. Help with purchasing a new pc? Here's the deal. I have an old Acer Pc which is not at all worth an upgrade and an HP laptop which i wont be able to upgrade(i mean graphics and processor). i am able to play games that are a year old on the laptop but it produces too much heat which i think is not good so i stopped gaming on it. Should i buy a new PC because technology upgrade never ends and my laptop is just 2 years old. Which laptop is the best, least expensive? I would like to purchase a laptop computer that's for a heavy/intense user. I do not play computer games, but i do play songs/videos. I also burn them. I also use a lot of work programmes like those from Microsoft, Adobe, etc..., and tend to run a few programmes at the same time. The laptop (HP) i am using keeps crashing and giving me problems. LG KS 360 phone and bluetooth queries? I just purchased an LG KS 360 slider phone and i realized that i wasn't able to accept in files through bluetooth, however i am able to send it out. When i went to check support on the phone on LG website in a Singapore site, i can't seem to find this particular handphone model. Why is it that this phone is not listed at all?
