Anyone know if Dell color laser printer 1320c toner cartridges are compatible with any other printers / brands? Tried googling. These toner cartridges seem to only match this printer. I find it hard to believe they would match only one printer to one type of cartridge.
Alternative to Dell Laser Printers in a corporate environment? We use Dell corporate wide. 2 years ago we bought nothing but 1710dn printers. Toner was about $60. Then dell replaced that model with 1720dn. Toner went to about $80, plus I then had to carry stock on both toners. NOW, Dell has replaced the 1720dn with another model. The toner is now $100. I'll now have 3 different models of printers and I'll need to stock 3 different toner carts and build my images with three sets of drivers. I'm ready to end this madness. Has anyone found a good laser printer that is produced year after year without model upgrades? A big plus would be if it had a reasonably priced toner cartridge too. I suppose it's just the world we live in, but I feel that Dell's constant model switching and escalating toner costs are getting to be a bit much. Go look at the guts of a 1710dn and then a 1720dn printer. They specifically "keyed" the 1720 to not take 1710 toner. Who has a solution?
Do dell laser printers have smart chips that cause the cartridge to expire before the toner runs out.? In other words, does the printer lie about the toner being empty, so you have to buy new caratridge early? Is there a time expiration ( ie 6 months) that is not advertised or is the expiration consistant with the page per cartridge value?
How can I install a Dell laser printer when I don't have the original installation CD anymore? I am trying to install a Dell laser p1500 printer on my desktop computer. I currently have it installed on my laptop, and can share it, but I want to install it as a local printer on my desktop instead, since my laptop is often away. Is there any way I can do this when I don't have the installation CD anymore? Can I somehow take the installation files from my laptop and install them on my desktop?

My Dell Laser printer is printing a black stripe down all the pages, how do I stop this? I have Dell Laser 1600n printer. Lately there have been black stripes down the center of most print outs. I have cleaned the drum several times. Could this be a problem with the toner cartridge (which is refirbished) or is it a problem with the printer itself? Please let me know any ideas. thanks!
Connecting Vista to shared Dell laser printer on WinXP problems.? I have a WinXP machine running my printers. Anytime I try to connect to my Dell 1700 Laser Printer it refuses to install. I downloaded the Vista drivers but they only allow me to install the printer locally or share it over a network so other machines can access it. Unfortunately, no option to connect to a printer already shared on the network!!??!! When I try to run the Vista drivers on the XP machine so I can share the printer over the network, the software balks and complains that it cannot run on XP lol, round and round I go hehe. Ideas anyone?

How do I print on textured cardstock with my Dell Laser Printer 1700n? I have tried setting the paper type to card stock and something called bond. I have tried several different combinations in the print quality section. The end result is that the printed page looks awful. The texture is kind of a waffle weave, and the printer only seems to be printing on the top. The ink doesn't seem to be getting into the crevices that make up the texture pattern. There are several choices for "custom" paper types, but I can't figure out how to program them.

Why is there a SLIGHT RED LINE across bottom of page on my Color Laser Printer (dell 3000cn)? I have a dell 3000cn color laser printer and noticed that when i print color pictures that span the size of the entire page then at the bottom (regardless if its printed landscape or portrait) a slight redish line appears at this lower region of the page (in the printing area)...It doesn't look like its printing more red in this area but looks like some kind of burn-in or something that appears slight red. Dell laser printer Model # 1110? Does anyone know where I can buy the fuse that goes on the circuit board of my Dell laser printer model 1110 ? I know that there's one fuse for the toner cartridge but I need the one that goes on the printers circuit board. I called Dell and they say that they don't have it, I even talked to the small parts dept and they don't have it either. They still sell this model printer, so it seems to me that they would have it. Dell Laser Printer 3100cn PCL6 Problem? Our Dell Laser Printer 3100cn PCL6 chops off some of the right margin while printing. It is gradually chopping off more and more. We've had to reduce our printing percentage slowly. We started out having to reduce it from 100% to 96% and now it's down to 91%. Why is this happening?

Very Frustrated with Dell Laser Printer - any ideas? First sorry for the length I love my Dell 3110 cn laser printer; however now I believe it might have been a fantasy. The transfer roller is showing a "X" icon over it meaning that there might be a issue. I called yesterday the guy said that I should buy a new one - like I have the money. Once after many of his off-the-phone-check with supervisor he told me that "at Dell we believe a laser is a one time purchase" - then I asked why is it being suggested that I buy a new before the 3rd anniversary is up. Basically they say there are no parts for this printer and so I should buy a newer version b/c then at least the newer version will have the parts available for at least 1 or 2 more years - however by the 3rd anniversary tough luck - which is where I am right now. My biggest issues is that the manual suggests that the printer has a life of 5 yrs or 300000 pages whichever comes first - I have only printed 13000 pages - The roller has a life of 100000 pages again I have only printed one tenth of its life. My long winded questions is that do you like Dells, if not what color laser do you like?? Also is there anything anyone should suggest - except buying a new Dell??? I am frustrated because if I knew the parts would be unavailable I might have rethought my purchase!! Thanks and sorry for the length - just really frustrated.
Dell Laser Printer 1110? Okay so I have this Dell laser printer 1110 and it's been working fine for maybe half a year or a year or more.. but this past weekend it started not printing anything. Like the light was green and nothing was wrong and the paper still goes in. But nothing came out on the paper it's blank.. and it comes out faster than usual. So I thought it ran out and replaced the toner. But it still has the same problem and isn't printing anything.. And the paper comes out with marks on it.. like from the shape of the round part of the toner? Everything seems to be working fine and I can't see any broken parts inside or out that can be seen. Anyone know what the problem might be? I think I'll definitely have to get a new printer soon :(
Dell Laser Printer 1700 Paper Jam Problem? ok guys, so my printer jams like halfway. i press print and then it gets jamed. however, its not like regular jams where the paper is alll wrinkled up when u pull it out. my problem is that when it jams i can just pull out the paper and its fine. mechanics inside?should i take it apart? like i can print something but thats in 1/20 tries. Copies out of a Dell laser printer, 3115cn, have a gray hue on whole sheet. What can I do to fix that.? I'm not a techie type, so lots of details would be great. It's a 2.5 yr. old machine and has worked great until now. The text and graphics appear as I expect them to related to color, etc. It's just this gray haze that covers the entire sheet that has me stumped. Thanks!

Help installing a Dell 3010cn Laser printer on XP? I've just got a refurbished 3010cn. When I plug it into my computer, it sees it but lists it in device manager as a 'Unknown Device'. When I try to reinstall with the official Dell driver, it says the file contains no information about my hardware, and it will not let me change it. Is there any way around this? Any suggestions on all-in-one laser jet printers other than H-P? Lexmark or Dell? We currently have the HP OfficeJet 6210. The printer works fine, but the scanner works terribly, slow and unreliable. We've been shopping for a replacement with similar capabilities but better. Thus far, we've come across Lexmark X7675 Pro and the Dell 968 or 968W. Wireless is not crucial, but we'd take it. How to Operate Laser Printer DELL MFP 1600N? Recently I bought a Laser Printer DELL MFP 1600N to be used with my DELL Laptop notebook Vostro 1500. But I have not been able to do so. I installed the software which came with the printer, but the printer does not operate. On the display window of the printer, it displays "Unlock scanner" which I have not been able to do. Dell 1110 Laser Printer drivers not seeing printer? Hey people, sorry for yet another "printer not working" problem, but it's the truth :) I have a Dell 1110 laser printer, and a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop running Vista Business. The printer has worked on it before, after installing drivers from Dell's driver CD. However, I reinstalled Vista last week. I thought that although I had lost Dell's CD, I wouold just download them. I found the drivers, of course, but they won't see the printer, even though it is connected and on. I've tried using a shorter USB cable since that sometimes helps, but no go. Any ideas? Has this happened to you? Thanks!
Dell 1710 Laser Printer error light on? My Dell 1710 laser printer printer worked fine until a few minutes ago. There was a brief power outage here and when the power returned, both the Toner Low and Error lights are on (not flashing). I changed my toner just a few weeks ago. Also, I have turned the printer on and off multiple times but I the lights are still on. I just called Dell and they said that there is no other solution since I have already restarted the printer many times. They claim that there is something corrupted on the mother board as a result of the power outage. I would really appreciate some help! Thanks John R. The printer is connected to a Surge Protector which is meant to protect it from such power spikes (in theory, at least). Any other ideas? I already order a new printer. Thanks everyone anyway!

The Dell 1600n Laser Printer? Can anyone advise. A friend who has left for another country has given me his Dell 1600n Laser Multi-Function Printer, to replace an old inkjet which has just given up the ghost and I’m trying to figure out my best setup. Basically this is my setup. I have a Netgear DG824M router which sits in a spare room, it is connected to a telephone line in the room. I have a Dell Inspiron 510m laptop, pretty old I know but then it’s all that I need: it is mainly used in other parts of the house. I access the internet via two homeplugs, one connected to the router and one connected to the laptop. Anyway I’m trying to figure out if I attach another homeplug to the router and the printer will I be able to directly print from my laptop from say the living room, or will I have to continue to physically attach the laptop to the printer via a USB cable as I do now? All suggestions welcomed.

If I need to print something that is in WP format, I generally just convert it to a PDF, which prints just fine...I have looked on Dell.com and Corel.com and I can't seem to find any fixes. I forgot to say what happens when i try to print. I get a dialog box that says: "The document page size is set to a custom form that may not be supported by this printer driver. If you incur problems set your document page size to printer defined sizes." I have tried every contortion to set page size (which is standard 8.5x11) but nothing has worked. One thing to note is that before this printer I had an HP (black & white), and got the same message. Difference there was, I hit enter and it printed, whereas with the Dell it blinks the "out of paper" light and I have to manually cancel the job. Ideas? Thanks!
I have a Dell 1320c laser printer and cannot print WordPerfect files. Help!!? I have a Dell 1320c laser printer here at work, and I love it except for it will NOT print WordPerfect files. I work at a bit of an old-fashoined place, and while I do use Word when I can, mostly everyone else here uses various versions of Corel WordPerfect. (I myself run WP version 12.) If I need to print something that is in WP format, I generally just convert it to a PDF, which prints just fine except if there is any leftover formating, like an underline was left in but text was deleted--it shows a line in the PDF version. We don't have an IT staff, and the few computer techs that have been here can't seem to find the problem. I have looked on Dell.com and Corel.com and I can't seem to find any fixes. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your help!!! I just re-asked my question with the details...sorry I am just learning the best ways to ask questions on here! Is it considered safe for your laser printer to use off-brand replacement toner cartridges? I have a Dell 1720dn laser printer and need a replacement toner cartridge. I notice that the "Dell brand compatible" ones (i.e., not made by Dell) are about 30 to 50 percent of the price of a Dell brand cartridge. Just wondering if those off-brand cartridges are generally considered safe for your printer and, if so, whether there's a particular brand that's considered best?

Printers: Keep My Old HP Laserjet5L or Get New Cheapo Dell 926 Photo Printer? I'm buying a new Dell computer and the guy said my old HP Laserjet5L printer won't work because the cable doesn't have a usb connector. He said I could either buy a cable adaptor for $30 to continue using my 10 year old printer, or else spend $60 on a brand new compatible Dell 926 Photo Printer. It sounds like a no-brainer....i.e. buy the new printer, right? But my concern is that my old HP laser printer is (was) a very good printer, whereas I think this new Dell printer is the bottom of the line. But maybe printers are like computers in that even a lousy new one is 10 times better than a great one from 10 years ago??? Is that true? I've never even printed in color before, but I suppose it would be nice to print photos. Usually I just print documents and I've been very happy with the quality of my 10 year old laser printer. I guess the bottom line with me is that if the new one can print documents as nicely as the old one, then I might as well get the new printer. Right??

Dell Laser 1700 Printer Paper Jam? I'm not sure how this originated, since I came in to help later, but there's paper stuck past the toner and the roller, so it's in the top back before it comes out onto the top/tray. We tried to get it out by taking the roller off, but it tore, and tried to pull it out of the back, but it's curled up behind the two rollers that push it up onto the top of the printer. Is there another piece I can take out ot get to the paper without taking the whole printer apart? Or is there another way? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Need to get Drivers for My Dell A920 Printer.I BOUGHT this Machine and want to use it w/ my new laptop.? I want to use this printer w/ my new Laptop because it has a USB connection. I still have the Dell computer that the A920 came w/ but I am using a laser printer w/ it. Dell's Marketing Practices STINK! - they refuse to offer the drivers as a download even for a peinter that is 2 years old.
How to print from laptop to printer that is connected to PC? I have a PC running windows and a new MacBook Pro. The MacBook is accessing the internet via wireless router. I want to print from my laptop to my Dell Laser Printer 5100cn that is connected directly to the PC. How would I go about setting up the network so I can print from my MacBook?
Dell printer not compatible w/ print server? I recently purchased a Netgear® PS121 1-Port USB Mini Print Server and I followed all of the instructions that were provided and still cannot get the installation to succeed. I am very frustrated. Is my printer not compatible with this print server? any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love some help. Dell printer out of memory. Why? I have a dell 3100cn colour laser printer setup on my home network but sometimes when i try and print it comes up with 'out of memory' on the front of the printer. I have succesfully printed a 2.5MB jpg picture full A4 size tonight and now it said out of memory trying to print a 150Kb jpg picture and a 2 page text document. Why?
Cheap Toner anywhere for a Dell? I have a Dell 5300 laser printer. They say you can only get the toner through dell... Does anyone know a source where I can get the toner, and cheaper than dell? Dell is around $250.00 or so. Thanks!
My dell 1100 printer does not heat? I have a new Dell 1100 laser printer and everything works fine exept it does not heat therefore the toner doesn't stick to the paper, how can I fix it myself?
