Are there any good cheap COLOUR laser printers? I've found lots of black ink ones but all the colour ones seem to be about $350 (Australian) or more. Most I could spend would be maybe $180. Oh and are they cheap to run? My old colour printer is horrible!!

What is a good, cheap, color laser printer? I have been looking at the low end models from HP, Samsung and Brother, which seem to hover around $150, depending on where you shop. I definitely need color, but not for photos. Any graphics I print would be icons and logos and many may have gradients, so I'm not sure how well these cheap printers would print them. Need a "cheap" laser printer for preprinted forms that aligns each page the same way (low volume) Suggestions? The forms are for a small medical practice, and the printing is done via software that I have written. The problem with the present laser printer is that it does not align each page the same way. As a result some pages have all their entries printed as much as half a line above or below where they are supposed to go on the form. This is a low volume operation. I'm looking for a laser printer that does a better job, and costs less than $500. I would really be grateful for suggestions on this problem.

Why do people continue to use printers that use ink cartridges, when a laser printer is cheaper.? I can understand why they would for photos, but I don't think they are good if you just need to print out something and color doesn't matter. I used to have a Ink jet printer and I was going though Ink every three months. I tried to use the refill kits, but they were not the same quality as the name brand ink cartridges. I bought a laser printer a year ago, and its still on the original cartridge. The laser printer prints out about 1,000 pages before it runs out of Toner. I havn't even had to buy any toner cartridges, since I gotten the laser printer. The Toner cartridges that you buy at the store print out about 3,000-5,000 pages depending on what toner cartridge you buy. People say they are really expensive, usually $100-$150 a Toner cartridge, I would have already spent this much this year if I still had the ink jet printer. I can't imagine how much I would save if I bought a Toner that I saw at the store that prints $5000 pages for $135. Laser printers are also not the expensive. Sure its a little more money at first, but you save alot more money in the long run, what do you guys think.

Which laser printers are best for mass production? I am starting a small printing business, specifically flyers and business cards. I've been doing alot of research (HPs, Brother, Bestbuy etc) but wonder how many can actually mass produce? I would offer flyers from 100 flyers to 5,000 to one customer. Can anyone recommend some? Preferably in the $200-$800 range. I called someone at Best Buy's Geek Squad and he said that ink printers are better in quality but they cost more (cartridges), however laser printers are cheaper to maintain (and i guess faster). Inkjet vs. Laser printers? i'm going to buy a printer very soon, and I just don't know which type to buy. my most recent printer is a laser, which i absolutely love, but it's quite expensive. i have used an inkjet printer, but that was when i was really young, and i can't really remember anything about it. the reason why i'm deciding on an inkjet is that they're SOO much cheaper on the market right now. (i saw an all-in-one inkjet for about 70 bucks!!) i'm only going to use printers for school purposes (printing lecture notes etc.) so i, along with my sister, on average print about 1000 pages per term and i am not looking for colour prints, only black and white. i tried calculating the cost per pages and stuff, and they come up to be about the same price. (4 cents/page vs. 6 cents/page) I REALLY don't know which type to buy. i know lasers have much better quality...but i really don't care about quality too much (since i'm only going to be reading the notes myself) any help is appreciated=) thanks you guys for the suggestions... i still don't know which type to buy tho...lol for inkjets, is it a bad idea to refill them? my friends who have inkjets, buy these bottles (about $20), and they refill the cartridge instead of buying a new cartridge (which costs about 50$$). hmm........
What old laser printers have higher power laser diodes.? I am trying to find an old laser printer for a good diode. I need to know what brands/models of OLD printers have a 100mW or higher diode or module and would prefer 620-660nm or anything visible but IR will do. I dont want to go and buy a new one....
