Brother Laser Printers safe to use in bedroom? I have my brother laser printer in my bedroom, uses tn-330 toner. But my bedroom has little ventilation. So i was wondering if this printer is safe to continue to operate in my bedroom or should i move it to somewhere else with higher ventilation? I heard some printers emit toner particles that can cause lung cancer. I'm not sure if my brother printer is safe to operate or emits any dangerous particles.
Do you think Brother laser printers make fewer carcinogenic emissions than those tested in a recent study? A recent Australian study showed that some HP laserjet printers, though not all models, emit high levels of carcinogenic particles, worse than cigarettes - and also Toshiba and other makes. I suppose Brother laser printers have a different toner technology because they have replaceable drums as well as cartridges, so perhaps they are safer to be around than those that tested high. Is there any contributor with technical knowledge to comment on that? (Particularly Brother HL-1450, because I'm sitting right next to one!) Other printers in the test included Canon and Ricoh. HPLaserjet 4050 series were mentioned as having no such emissions, although the 4250 do.
What is the performance level of a BROTHER laser printer ? I am still looking for a good laser printer. A friend suggested a BROTHER laser printer selling for around 4,000 pesos. Can you clean the rollers in a Brother laser printer drum unit? We have a relatively new Brother HL 2035 laser printer that uses a Brother DR2005 drum unit. It seems that someone has run a piece of paper through it with fabric taped to the paper, in an attempt to print onto the fabric. The fabric and paper emerged, but a small quantity of tape has become stuck to one of the rollers. This leaves a repeating streak mark at approximately 10cm intervals down the page. Can this be cleaned, or 'printed out' with use, or do we need an entirely new drum unit? Thanks!

What paper is the best/safest for laser printers (not color)? I purchased the Brother 2040 B/W laser printer. I have some black and white photographs and wanted to print them out with the laser printer. However, I've heard that I can't use gloss paper because the heat will melt the coating and ruin the printer. Is there high quality photo paper for laser printers? Factors such as weight, iso brightness, gloss, matte...it is all becoming very confusing with such a wide selection. What happens if I do a drum reset on my Brother HL-2035 laser printer without replacing the drum? Does Brother HL-2035 just counts the number of pages printed to determine when to start blinking the Drum light? It started to blink, but the printouts are still great. Why to replace the drum when there is nothing wrong with it? The online manual says that I shouldn't reset the drum counter without actually replacing the drum. But what happens if I do? Thanks

How do you check the toner levels on a Brother (MFC-9420CN) Laser Printer? The message on the printer indicates Toner Out but does not indicate which color is out: Black (K), Yellow (Y), Cyan (C) or Magenta (M). There is no indication of toner levels on the status monitor.

Brother Laser printer printing blank pages :o( Help!? Ok, So I got a Brother MFC-7320 second hand. I have installed the drivers etc and all it does is print a blank page when I send a job. I have checked the toner (there's tons in there), the lcd tells me that there is 86% life left in the drum, and from what I can see the Corona wire is intact. Is there anyone out there who A: Might be able to tell me what is wrong with it? and B: how do I fix it? I quite often repair electrical items so if its possible I'd like to give it a go myself. If not then I will take it to a repair shop. OR if people think it is COMPLETELY SHOT then I will salvage parts from it :o) Many thanks for any replies! I would almost certainly say that this is a mechanical problem, not a software/settings issue.
My laser printer (Brother MFC-8500) makes a screeching sound when it prints. See details for more info. Causes? I know it is NOT the fan. Also, the screeching doesn't start when the paper is auto fed into the print area, either from the top feeder or the tray feeder. The screeching seems to begin when the actual printing begins. Could this be emanating from the DRUM cartridge or from the TONER cartridge? It sounds like its coming from that area. Any insights are welcome. Thanks.

I just got it and I use it around once a week, and at times, i print over 500 pages of documents. The printer itself is very efficient, but it emits a lot of air that smells like burnt rubber. How soon should laser printer drum be changed? About a week ago, I got a message displayed on my Brother laser printer, "change drum soon," so I ordered a drum on-line which just arrived. These things are expensive, so I don't want to change out the old one till necessary. Brother HL 2030 laser printer problem? I have a brother HL2030 laser. I had a paper jam and went about clearing it. I have thoroughly checked that all paper has been removed. However my paper LED light is blinking and i am unable to print. I have cleared the paper jam, cleaned the drum by sliding the appropriate blue slider back and forth and have also reset the printer by turning it off holding down the go button and turning it on. Also holding it down for 4 secs. What else could be wrong and how can i resolve my problem???

Have a brother MFC7820n laser printer says "toner has ended"? i have printed lots and lots of paper and refilled the toner the printer refuses to print but the toner is full and everything is 100%i read something about a "flag gear" that is needed to reset something to make the printer print again. i know if i buy a new toner cartridge it will solve the problem but is there a way to reset the printer's memory or override the toner end message. guessing will not work, you either know the answer or you don't. thank you all.

I replaced the toner on my new Brother HL 2040 laser printer, and now it won't work.? The ink looks very faint after a few pages. If I roll the blue thing on the drum, it looks better for about 5 pages, then does the same thing again. Did I mess up the drum somehow? Is the toner bad?
