Epson printers not printing with no color question? I'm sure many of you have had the annoying experience of your Epson printer not being able to even print B/W documents just because 1 or all of your color cartridges are supposedly out. My question is, what can be done about it? Are there any override programs? Are there any brands of printers besides Epson that don't employ this terrible tactic? I have a CX4800.

It is good then all of sudden when I turned it on, it started making noises! I took it out and checked it out. It was a little black piece inside that just broke! How to trick epson printer to think that the color cartridges are not empty ? I have Epson all-in-one printer, model RX500. It uses 6 ink cartridges, one black and the others are color. I do not plan to print any photo / color prints anymore. The problem is if one the 6 inks is empty, the printer stop functioning. My Epson printer uses color ink when I tell it "Black ink only!!"? I have an epson stylus cx5000 and in print options, i choose BLACK INK ONLY but i always notice the color cartridges going down, even though i only use it for black ink. I dont see any color ink coming out but i have to keep replacing the color cartridges! is this some epson scam? HOw do i fix this? I only want to use black one cartridge for black, one for red, one for yellow, one for blue and i already did the "black ink only" but over a couple weeks the color ones go down too.

My Mom has an Epson Color Stylus 800, an older printer, but still does a great job printing. I am trying to.. replace the color cartridge, and am holding down the color button on the printer for three seconds to move the head so that I can access it to replace the old cartridge. I'm doing this on hp premium plus inkjet glossy photo paper 8 1/2 X 11, 11.5 mil paper. I'm using Inksel cartridges I get for myself at work. Should I worry that the ink or paper will fade in the future? Any suggestions on purchasing the good stuff? Also, my friend wants to buy the best and cheapest but quality printer for large color prints (for people, birds, sunsets etc) for her Dell Computer she got last year. I have a Epson Stylus Color 480sxu and have printer problems? I just bought new ink for it and it had been sitting for awhile, so when I went to use it, everything would print except black. I went to the head cleaning and cleaned it a few times and it eventually started working and the last time it was perfect. Then all of a sudden, my printer starts giving me a error message that there is an unknown error and to unplug the printer and call technical service or a dealer. I called tech, and we unpluged, rebooted and even deleted the printer and reinstalled it again and it still does the same thing?? Does anyone know what the problem may be????
