Why won't my HP Deskjet 5400 printer install on my Windows XP operating system? I got this printer for free. There was nothing wrong with it, but when they tried to put in an ink cartridge, they exploded it all over the inside of the printer, so they said you can have it if you clean it up. So it didn't come with the software. I downloaded the software off of the internet (from HP) and it came up with some error message that it couldn't find a file or folder or somehting. I don't remember exactly what the error was. "unInstaller setup failed to initialize. You may not be able to uninstall this product." I tried to install it a second time, and it worked. Which laptop should I chose for college and some gaming, why? First I want to say is that I should be getting a laptop soon by January 2009. I will have only $1,700 in the bank by the 3rd of January. I don't think I need the codecs or drivers, I uninstalled SoundMax, and I'm wondering if I can install it back, for the type of computer I have, and for my computer to redetect my Multimedia or whatnot.
