Wondering if I should upgrade from my old Epson printer GM1700 (?) I also wonder if the old Epson printer will run with a brand new MacBook

Apple store Hp Printer? What was the printer that apple had a deal on during the summer and back to school if you bought a laptop? I know it was HP but i don't know the exact kind it was. It was a special for $100 with the purchase of a laptop. it scans and prints, but its not wireless but idk if it faxes.

HP printer detects refilled color ink cartridge (msg. on screen) & print quality is bad. Have they screwed us? I bought a store-brand (refilled) color ink cartridge for my HP Officejet (7310xi All-in-One). When I installed it the screen gave a message saying "HP Ink Depleted from Cartridge" (specifically HP ink!). Obviously HP has put a smart chip in their cartridges to detect when "their" ink is depleted, meaning that it knows the cartridge has been refilled. When I tried to print anything in color with that cartridge, the colors were screwed (mostly green). The message and poor print quality were both true on two different printers. So, this may just be a bad cartridge, and I will find out when I exchange it. But... I'm wondering... does anyone know if HP has intentionally programmed their printers to NOT work with refilled cartridges, thus screwing us all and forcing us to by their own ridiculously overpriced cartridges?

My HP printer does not print. Do i need to have it's mind erased again? This hapened before. My printer got confused somewhere along the line and now refuses to print. It's an HP 1220C. Not too cheap so i'd like to get it going again. It's happened before and I dropped it off at a computer store and they did something to it's memory or internal computer or brain or all of the above and it worked again. i think it cost me $50. Problems refilling HP cartridges with ink from IMS? I used refill ink from IMS to refill the cartridge in my (6 months old) HP 4215 all-in-one printer. After the 3rd refill the printer stopped working. Have used HP printers for over 20 years - never had a problem. Found a reference that HP printers store the identification number (a serial number) from the cartridge. And that it tracks the last 3 cartridges used by the machine. Can find nothing wrong with the printer. Considering how HP "acquired" the phone records of their Board members, have to wonder - will the machine "shut down" if it detects you are not using new HP cartridges? Friends have used the IMS ink to refill their printers - not by HP - several times without any problems.

my hp printer stopped woking. someone PLEASE help!? I have had the printer for maybe about 2 or 3 years. I've never had any problems with it before. We'd buy the hp ink for it until i heard about getting those refill cartridge things from like Walgreens, and how they were more inexpensive. We bgan to get those instead, we only got them up to like 2 or three times, the third was the last one. that was when it stopped working. Why will HP photo printer not print pics off of certain devices? I have an HP photo printer (the little portable ones) and the instruction booklet says you can print pics off of an iPod that stores photos. Does anyone know where I can get a new plastic paper tray for a HP psc 1350xi all-in-one printer? I went to the HP online store, but they don't have it available. I have the item number from the website. My problem is that I can't find any local store that can get it and I don't know where online to find it. Trouble with HP C4480 Printer + Windows xp? I just bought this printer. Three in one, printer,copy , scanner. Well I installed the cd, tried to print a page of microsoft word. When it came time to print the printer just took the paper and brought it out blank without even attemepting to copy. The Copier works just fine as i was able to make copies of pages I scanned. I now believe that it cant possibly be the printer because i had it replaced at the store and the new one does the same thing. Whats wrong with the computer? Printing things off the internet nor microsoft word or anything else for that matter doesnt work. Thank you When I had a test page done the paper went through the printer but nothing else. Where can I go to get a installment disk for my printer? I currently have a HP Deskjet 3745 printer; however, the installment disk was lost when I moved to another place. I was told that I could download a replacement online rather than possibly going back to the store that I've bought it from and wasting money just to get another disk; however, I don't where to go or how to do that. PLEASE HELP!!!

how do you install hp deskjet 3650 printer?? i have this printer that ive had for a year. it ran out of ink so i stored it . i finally hav ink so i connect it back but it wont work. i tried downloadin drives but they wont download. and i realy need to get work done. can u guys helllp me??????

here in the U.S. Walgreens stores have machines that refill printer ink? They work on Canon and HP printers. I am wondering if any stores out there refill Epson inks, especially the photo printer inks. I have both HP and Epson printers. The HP is a Deskjet model, and requires just plain ol ink, but the Epson is an R200 photo printer, and has 6 different ink cartridge (one for black, 5 for color). Of course, it's expensive for the Epson replacement cartridges, over $100.00. The capacity in each cartridge isn't much for the Epson, while the HP has a lot of ink and i could print a ton of stuff!

I went looking for a scanner yesterday and all the store had were the combination scanner? and printer. HP was giving $50 off on any printer if you bought this combo. Did HP make a mistake in building the combo? I mean like since both (the printer and scanner) break at different times.

Can I download installation software for a printer off the internet somewhere? My boyfriend is looking for a cheap printer (he doesn't print a whole lot, but when he does want to, it would come in handy. Well, I found this really good Canon Multipass 3-in-1 printer/scanner/copier at a thrift shop for $10. I don't know if the store is holding the installation CD in the back or something because it wasn't with the printer on the shelf. Just in case they don't have the CD (the owner didn't donate it with the printer or something), is there somewhere I can get the installation software so that he can set the printer up on his computer? This printer is a Canon Multipass F30. My mom has a Canon Multipass F60 that she has the software for. Could I use the F60's CD to install the F30? The store also has some other nice printers. All I need is the drivers from the website? I never really pay attention to what I install from hardware CDs, I wasn't sure if there was more to it than that. Thanks! It's not working!!!! I tried to test it out before I buy the printer. I downloaded the drivers and stuff for the MultiPass that my mom has and tried hooking it up to see if it will work. The installation froze up and the computer won't recognize the printer, and now I can't even uninstall the program. Urrrgh.... Why can't I just plug it in and have it work. No software required (like mice, speakers, keyboards, etc)? That would be a million times easier..... Sigh. Can anyone else help me?

photo printer? Does anyone know of a photo printer that will print quality pictures like they are from the store? I have a old hp printer and the pics aren't that great. You can see the dots in the pic where it was printed and the paper it to thick. I would like good quality but don't have the money for a professional printer. Trying to stay less than 300. Also my computer is hp and my camera is a canon. If that helps any. Is a compact photo printer better at printing photos than a printer that can print photos and documents?

How can I find a printer compatible with my old computer? I have an 8 year old computer - this was even before USB. A few months ago my HP Deskjet 600C gave up the ghost and I've been attempting to fins a replacement. When I go to electronic stores and ask for a parallel port printer, I just receive incredulous looks and the comment that they aren't being made any longer. All the new printers require USB connections and at least 256 MB RAM (mine has 128MB). I can't buy one off the Internet because I don't have a credit card. I also tried Craig's list, but parallel port printers are few in number and the ones I inquired about aren't guaranteed to work. Any suggestions?

How do I get my HP Photosmart C5180 printer to recognize the new ink cartridge I installed? When I ran out of yellow ink, I replaced the cartridge with a new HP cartridge and it didn't recognize it as a full cartridge. I tried another and it showed as having a very small amount of ink, which it used quickly then wanted another new one. When I took that one out, I noticed it was heavy so I shook it and I heard the ink sloshing. Because I had bought the first 2 at a discount store, I thought maybe I should try one from another store, and when I tried that one, it did the same as the first replacement. Until I figure out how to fix this, I can print in black only. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

where can i find hp host introductory ink cartridges? They are different than the regular ink cartridges (called trade cartridges) sold in stores. They normally come with a new printer but I did not receive them. HP has not been much help. I am waiting for their response to my 5th e-mail.

Blurry Output on a HP LaserJet 6L? OK I know - why bother - but I do and I pulled out an old HP 6L printer for which I have several brand new unused cartridges - but despite changing the cartridge for a brand new one - the output remains blurry - small characters in colour pdf's are the worst but the test print is also affected. Searching on the web, I found someone promising 'cleaning kit' to fix the problem of such output by claening the 'optics and scanner lens', but am I simply wasting money? The printer was stored in a dusty enviroment and if its just a question of cleaning ? but what, where and how ? I'm fairly sure it's not the power supply - the mechanicals all work fine. So the 'blow out' looks best bet - but where exactly ? where exactly is the lens/mirror situated ? I've had a look for them but can't see anything obvious :-(

Is the HP Photosmart C5140 printer the same printer as the HP C5180? The C5140 is the one available at Wal-Mart stores. They seem to have same features, wondering if they are the same and if so, why they have different model numbers.

will my dell 1110 laser printer work with a new Apple Macbook? Mac.? i'm currently using an HP Laptop, about 2 years old with a fairly new Dell 1110 Laser Printer that I purchased on Ebay about 4 months ago. It's a great laser printer that has been running strong. This laptop is old so i'm considering upgrading to a new Macbook. My question is, will the new macbook and Dell Laser printer work together? Obviously the printer connects via USB. On The Apple.com store I see printers only from CANON and HP...but no Dell...but will it still work? There is a current promotion with Apple that if I buy a Macbook I get a free $100 printer from them, such as Canon. I do like their printers but enjoy my laser printer that does not require any upkeep; never buying ink for it. So will my dell printer be compatible with a mac? Thanks!

LOADING printer drivers? I have a Dell Dimension with Windows XP. I bought a new HP printer. I cannot download the software from the disk provided or from HP.com I bought a new USB cable and I bought some new RAM -512 for a total of 768. These were no help. I took it to FRY's- a local electronics store- for them to load the program because I thought I was doing something wrong. It failed for them too. What happens is when it starts to load, it gets to a certain point about half way thru and it rapidly slows down and then stalls and freezes. It will not download....the guy at the store says it is a software problem. I called HP and the guy changed some tabs...but it still does not work..my neighbor is an IT tech but she did not have any quick fix ideas. I am out of ideas and patience. You may or may not be aware of how useless a computer is without a printer. I tried a Lexmark printer and it failed the same way too, but I returned it thinkiing it was the printer and bought the HP. Can someone please help me ? I do not want to have to buy a new comp just to have printer. There has to be an easy fix. Like other things, it is easy if you know how. Many thanks in advance.
