How long till digital cameras come with HD video recording as the norm? Currently most digital cameras with video recording do so at VGA resolution, which is 640x480. HD resolution is 1280×720 or 1920×1080. Uhm101, I'll agree that while they don't do everything well... they give you the flexibility to take both video and still images. For some people this convenience is great especially when traveling and you don't want to carry lots of equipment around. Just look at a Canon A720 camera. It takes good photos... and gives you okay videos when you want.

Why do the batteries not last very long in digital cameras? I have two digital cameras by Kodak, and the batteries don't last an entire day. Am I doing something wong or what?

I want a compact digital camera that will take a picture once in a while (like once a minute or something). That way I can leave it running all night and watch the stars go buy or something. Is there a name for this feature, besides time interval mode?

Can flash light be used while taking video with digital still cameras? I tried a couple digital cameras. I was not able to figure out how to turn on the flash light as a lighting source while taking video. Sometimes when I take video with digital camera where lighting is not sufficient, I wish I could turn on the flash light on the camera. Which digital cameras do not utilize picture compression? I notice that most recent digital cameras use some type of compression which seems to introduce noise and fuzzy edges in the pictures. can the filters from FILM SLR cameras be used for digital cameras? I have many old but pristine filters for a 35mm slr camera. They range from ordinary haze filter, to very expensive special effects filters. Can these be used on the new digital SLR cameras ? I have yet to switch as I have too much $ tied up in lenses & so on that can not be used from old to new. I plan sometime soon to buy a really good digital SLR and will keep them if they will work. How can I make 3d photos using 2 digital cameras? I have 2 digital cameras and i want to make 3d photos. .When i put them side by side they are about 3 inches apart, is there a trick i can do? put one in front of the other or overlap 1 on top of the other, or just have to buy a 3d camera instead?
